The Metal Insight Podcast #

Paul Masvidal tells us there'll be a new Cynic album soon

Whenever great new metal comes out of Ireland, MI is the first to know – and that was certainly the case a few years ago when we hailed Mullingar’s death metal sensation ATHEOS from the rooftops. Well, they’re back, and they’ve got a stunning new set of songs about to be unleashed upon the world.

Lorcan Archer catches up with the band to hear how they’ve crafted their material – and how ironically, they’re out of their comfort zones on the live stage.

We also have an exclusive interview with Cynic mastermind Paul Masvidal. Surely one of the most interesting and influential men in Death Metal, Paul has helped shape an entire subculture within the genre. He reveals something which will delight fans – he anticipates a new Cynic album by the summer.

Strewn through all that are quality new tracks from Irish crustcore maniaxx Putrefaction, new material from Windhand, and to close, a winter warmer from the new – and incredible – album from Tenhi.

We’ll be back for a Christmas special – and remember, if you want your band in this, just give us a shout.
