Fractured 14 | Vircolac – ‘Blood Moon’

Horror. Dread. Atmosphere. Proper Death metal.

‘Blood Moon’, the fourteenth Fractured film, rounds out John Mulvaney’s exploration of the Irish underground.

His lens this time is trained on Vircolac: the band who’ve all been around the block in many iterations over the years, but who’ve come together for, in their words, forty minutes on stage of just being able to fuck the world.

Here they explain the genesis of their sounds and the themes that compel them to write as they do.

MI is going to make a special area for John’s films in the near future. They’re too good not to, and tell a story that richly deserves showing off. So look out for that.

Sincere congratulations then to the man for some really sterling work over the last two years – a sentiment I’m sure all of us will agree on.
