For eleven years this website has served the fans of heavy metal and hard rock in Ireland.

Community

First and foremost, Metalireland is a community. It provides a meeting place for the metal scene across the island of Ireland to come together, to talk, enthuse, criticise and sometimes even laugh about the music we love. This exists through the sites forums – always busy, always active. They’re the mirror to the world of metal in Ireland.

Editorial

Before Metalireland, Irish bands had no consistent outlet in terms of decent, honest and insightful editorial coverage.  That means having their demos listened to and reviewed, and placed in an archive for posterity.  It’s also about MI’s writers getting out to live gigs, judging equally bands’ live efforts. These two things are crucial in any thriving music scene.

Metalireland prides itself on having offered impartial, honest and tough reviews since day one. It’s at the heart of the site’s existence, and its reputation rests on that quality.  

Submissions

Metalireland receives what could politely be termed a f***ing deluge of material for review and criticism. We try – we try – to review everything within a reasonable period of time. Priority is always given to Irish demos.  If you’re interested in Metalireland reviewing your work (and frankly, who isn’t?) then please email me at ct@metalireland.com to get the postal address.
