Jaysus, those pictures. Fair play to the guy on one hand for slimming down/beefing up coz he was a tubby fucker back in either '08 or '10 when I saw Pestilence at Neurotic deathfest. You wouldn't think he's a day over 30 now but the ballbag-o-meter is seriously off the scale with him:

- Hates metal yet is back with Pestilence whenever a quick cash fix is needed
- Has an extremely high opinion of himself as a musician yet with very little recent output of worth
- He's Dutch yet seems to be trying to pass himself off as one of these reprehensible Italian 'Guido' types
- 51 years old and constantly posting fucking selfies?

Clearly not the most well-rounded individual that you'll find in the metal world. Must be headwrecking being around this lad!

Exactly. Grow up ta fuck.

another cool track. It's not a million miles away from recent stuff but I think he has resisted the urge to have blasts everywhere or fill space up with jarry modern tech death riffs. Nice mix of the old and the new.

Curiosity got the better of me when the full album leaked on youtube last week so I gave it a few spins. Its very Pestilence sounding indeed, if a little samey. It easily tops the reformation albums though. Shave a bit off and its a decent successor to Testimony. A lot of the riffs have the feel of that era.

Mameli isn't playing with a full deck I reckon. He has yet another "project" called Moordzucht, which has a few demos on the FB page. These are all demos of tracks from the new Pestilence album. He probably took one too many doses of steroids and has no idea this exists.

By the way, Earl Grey as you feared every song title is repeated at the start, as the chorus and a couple of times at the end, just to make sure we know what song it is.

New album now live and released early due to the leak. I can't recall a band having to do that before though doubtless it happened.

Happens a lot. In this case Mameli has been particularly scornful of this leak and is trying to do damage limitation on potential sales.

€4.90 on bandcamp. Quite reasonable.

Purchase made; sound!

Although that surely has to be the lowest-priced new album that I've ever seen from a 'name' band. Was the leak really going to hit them that hard in the pocket?
