Enslaved - Ruun
Cant for the life of me remember when I last had this on. Stellar stuff. Probably prefer it over Isa.

Dawn - Slaughtersun
In my mind the best example of this type of BM (even more so than Storm of Lights Bane)
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
All killer no filler, some of ye are nuts

Lords of Black
ST and their newer album.
Two superb releases, especially new one. Not one bad song.

The singer, Ronnie Romero, sings for Blackmore's New Rainbow. Outstanding vocalist.

Check out this song:

After all the recent talk I went for Rust In Peace today. Not a dud track on there and Tornado Of Souls and Poison Was The Cure are still the highlights for me. Nick Menza really was on fire on this album.

I did the same, skipped last Dawn Patrol but otherwise it's amazing

Pestilence - Consuming Impulse

Sold this about 10 years ago in a fire sale and only got around to getting it again now. It's even better than I remember and 'Out of the Body' is an unbelievably good song. If I had to pick 3 tracks to show someone what death metal is then it'd be this one along with 'Pull the Plug' and 'Left Hand Path'. The only problem is that this song is just so brilliant that it overshadows all the others, despite all of them being great in their own right.

It's their only truly great record, an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. Mameli was/is an absolute clown.

Forest Swords - Dagger Path
Sort of like if Tim Hecker collaborated with a dreamy folk band, its great.

Bestial Raids - Master Satan's Witchery

Such a savage album. War metal can get real boring real fast but BR are always on the money. Also found that it goes perfectly with the new Void Meditation Cult - Utter the Tongue of the Dead which is also a beaut. So many good albums this year.

Regular spins lately. So damn good.

Still need to check out the latest from Void Meditation Cult.

Current 93 - Thunder Perfect Mind
Great soundtrack for an existential crisis.

*edit
Anna von Hausswolff - Ceremony
Went for a walk out to the woods listening to this, very uplifting

Kyy - Beyond Flesh Beyond Matter Beyond Death
Particularly fierce Finnish BM with a healthy dose of that Finnish oddness. Savage stuff.
