I'm going to choose 1996 as the year I should have started going to gigs as a 14yr old as the realistic earliest shows:

Metallica The Point 1996
AC/DC The Point 1996
Amen Limelight 2001? and Reading 2000
At The Drive-In Limelight 2001? and Reading 2000
Type O Negative SFX 1997
NOFX Limelight 2009
All the good gigs in Rosetta Bar late 90s/early 2000s
All the Distortion early shows
Pink Floyd Live8 2005. I was at Live8 but had to leave after the Who :( due to the overrun as tubes were shutting

I really wish I'd been able to get to that 1997 Type O gig at the SFX.

I was in the Netherlands with work. I salved the loss by going to a Rockbitch show. Didn't quite make up for it, though!

Skyclad arranging a headline gig in Barnstormers at the last minute made up for it, though. One of the all time amazing gigs. Granted, at the time I was heading to Danzig and the SFX to see Skyclad, and in the years since I regret never getting to see Danzig, especially in the classic line up, but Skyclad were just immense around the time of 'A Burnt Offering...'.

Brutal Truth + Macabre - The Rosetta 1994
Neurosis + Voivod + Today is the Day - The Limelight 1999
Poison Idea + The Dagda - Giros 2001
Butthole Surfers - Vicar Street 2008 (it was either this or Ministry's "last ever gig" around the same time. I genuinely regret missing this).

Obviously age plays a factor in this, but those are ones that would have been game changers for me.

I was at the brutal truth gig, pungent stench were headlining that night in the rosetta, was at the slayer gig as well, ive seen most bands ive always wanted to see but one i regret not seeing was anthrax with john bush and cannibal corpse barnes era

Back in the day could have seen SYL in London but stayed drinking in the Intrepid Fox. Got properly into them a while later but never got to see them so been kicking myself ever since.

Took a nap at Graspop one year and missed Type O.

Would love if my first time seeing Metallica had been in 1996 rather than whenever it was... 1999?

That first big Tribulation gig in Dublin three years ago with Dread Sovereign and Venus Sleeps would have been sweet.

Sepultura original line-up at some point would have been nice. Pantera too.

Apart from ones I was too young to go to, Metallica in 96 was my 1st gig, the biggest one is the Pantera show that was cancelled because of 9/11. Loved Pantera and never got to see them live.

Missed The Manic Street Preachers playing The Holy Bible in full on the anniversary tour a few years back.
Would have loved to see the Melvins in Galway.
Never got to see Bolt Thrower. Sigh.

couldn't get into Neurosis and Today Is The Day in the Music Centre becausem I was 15 and between fake IDs at the time. Also had to hear Tool from outside because the guy supposed to be selling me the ticket never showed up. That one really hurt at the time

Entombed in Temple Bar music centre in 1997 was another one that annoyed me that I couldn't go to,was in leaving cert year,it just wasn't happening.I was a huge fan of the death n roll era Entombed stuff, especially the Ride Shoot Straight album,so it was a balls not to be able to hit this one.

Immortal in Dorans in 2000 was another one I let get away!

My first gig was November '89. Anything before that would have been a bit unrealistic, but if I could pick one it would be Kiss '88 Belfast. Others I wish I'd seen:

Maiden '90 Belfast
Maiden '93 Belfast
Skid Row & Love/Hate '91 Belfast
Fudge Tunnel '91 Belfast (Supporting Sepultura. I was at the gig but didn't know them. I have no recollection of them playing and I became a big fan about 6 months later.)
Queensryche '90 Belfast
Guns N Roses '92 Slane
Kiss '96/'97 reunion tour
Entombed & Neurosis '97 Belfast
Faith No More '95 & '97 Glasgow (A couple of really low key gigs I knew nothing about when I lived there.)
Clutch '03 Dublin
Kiss '10 Dublin
Quo '14 Dublin
