Pleasantly surprised it sounds great. Like an overproduced track from Pure Holocaust. Looking forward to hearing the full album now and I hope they tour.

Apparently a handful of shows, most likely usual big fests.

It's very immediate. Instantly catchy. Usual a bad sign in the long run. Though I did enjoy it in that it mixed the pure obviousness of classic Immortal with a more ferocious edge. Cool enough.

I actually had At The Heart Of Winter on today on the way to work and was thinking to myself how well it's aged and also of it being one of the very very few albums I bought at that time (around 1999) that I would even go near today, let alone love and belt out the lyrics to while thrashing in the drivers seat.

The pure metalness of it has ensured it has stayed the course.

I hope they come my way. Immortal, Emperor etc usually do indoor shows when they come to North America instead of festivals. I haven't seen Immortal indoors yet. It will also be interesting to see how the setlist turns out considering the direction this new album seems to be going in.

Yeah its Horgh behind the kit alright! Its so aggressive and a very welcome sound to these ears!
Been 20 years since they released a top quality album in my opinion.

I enjoy the opening 3 tracks on Sons but after that I get bored very quickly with the album! I definitely wouldn't put it in the same league as Pure Holocaust/Battles & At the Heart

I had absolutely no positive expectations of this album whatsoever - Demonaz returning on guitar after 20 years and never having been the main composer, it just seemed so unlikely to yield decent results.

That said, "Northern Chaos Gods" is a really enjoyable song and I think I'll probably end up buying the album.

I haven't enjoyed any Immortal albums since "At the Heart of Winter" (though is it really the same band without Abbath?), so I'm a bit surprised by this turn of events.

That new one on youtube (can't access spotify) - https://youtu.be/Fb-TA2SbcWo

Midtempo and a bit too like their recent albums but still better than it probably should be. Not as good as the first released track.
