Lads, there's gotta be a way to combat this.

I've just eaten 6 bags of McCoys and half a kilo of vanilla yoghurt, then climbed back into bed, stuck Masterchef on iPlayer and curled up in the foetal position under the blankets to cry.

There was no bad craic last night, nothing silly said, no one offended, no digging matches.. Just a lot of drinking, a little weed and some good laughs.. So why in the name of fuck am I scared of my own shadow and filled with self loathing and remorse then?

Any tips on countering the fear besides Masterchef and crying? Gotta be a better solution than this.

Have a read of the 'worst hangovers' thread, and realise that it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Milk thistle supplements, works for me each time, did 12 pubs last weekend, took one of these before hand, no hangover next day.

When you have the Fear, laughter is definitely the best medecine I find.

I would be interested in trying Milk Thistle. Can it be got in the chemist? Another one to try and kind of works is Dioralyte. Before a session and the morning after.

The fear has started to take its icy grip more frequently, I've started to find. It tends to manifest as a crippling depressive state, coupled by a 'what the fuck am I doing with my life?' session that lasts all day.

Will be watching this thread with interest...

I nabbed them from amazon over a year ago. They don't seem to stock them but here's a link to the exact one I got ->

Wouldn't be mad into chopping down supplements daily or anything but it seems to do the job for a heavy session.

I tried milk thistle for a coupla weeks 2 years ago and don't think it made any noticable difference. Still do a pint of water before bed, when I remember, but again, no major improvement. Nothing like the panicky jitters the day after alright. Horrendous stuff. To the extent that I need to be off work and have no plans the following day cos at least that way I can horse into 4 pear Kopparberg and that does help to be fair. Literally the only thing that works for me is more booze. Not ideal to say the least.

I had it for at least one full week after Hellfest this year. Five days of drinking red wine and beer from about 2pm to 2am was the cause. I'm too old for that now and I don't intend for it to happen again.

There's no quick cure that I know of. Forcing yourself to vomit might work.

The depression I get now after heavy sessions doubled with the fear is horrendous. It's part of getting older I guess. I have definitely started to slow down when it comes to drinking in general. Still love it aswell though :?
