Helter Sketer et al was a bunch of fabricated lies.

I’m sure I saw Sharon Tate in Aldi last week. I thought she looked remarkably well for someone who had been disembowelled. That clears it up!

The point at which every single conspiracy theory falls down: Question everything... except this!

Interview w/Bobby Beausoleil now up on Bardo Methodology. Could be argued that he was the catalyst for the events that followed. It's interesting to note that his responses are littered with "Mansonisms" 40 years or so on.

I spent many hours as a young fella reading up on Manson, I even read the court transcripts at one point, it was more obsessive interest than any sort of admiration. Helter Skelter is pretty much proven to be mostly bullshit, Bugliosli was some man in fairness, but an expert in convincing people of possibilities rather than facts. Check out his JFK book, good read for any conspiracy theorists looking to be challenged.

Mansons was scum, but he was no criminal Mastermind. He didn't get a fair trial for certain, but the sentence was probably appropriate if inconsequential to a guy like him.

Polanski was arguably a far more abhorrent human being, there's pretty solid evidence that the police found some very questionable video content in the loft of Cielo Drive during the investigation. His sexual preference was pretty well known and probably facilitated by the authorities at the time. Not justifying the murders in any way, but fuck that guy. Makes the current Hollywood allegations seem like nothing.

So much lore with Manson, endlessly horrifying and fascinating, but it's worth looking beyond him and delving into lesser known members of the story such as Beausoleil:
