Always get good recommendations from this thread every year.

Actually tried to focus more on metal this year and didn't check out much beyond it, but the few I enjoyed were;

Fever Ray - Plunge
Future Islands - The Far Field
Zeal & Ardor - s/t

Afghan Whigs – in spades
Crystal Fairy – s/t
Electric Moon – stardust rituals
Grails – chalice hymnal
Death of Money – ghost pains (though this is probably pigeon holed as 'post-metal' I suppose)
Zong - Zong

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Luciferian Towers
Kendrick Lamar - DAMN
Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory
Lankum - Between The Earth And Sky
Slowdive - s/t
Twin Peaks Soundtrack - Music From The Return (Season 3)

Off the top of my head there's a few I've enjoyed. There's definitely more I haven't thought of yet.

Always love this thread. Currently trying to see what gems I missed looking at all the year-end lists going out.

Really enjoyed/enjoying these:

King Krule - The Ooz
Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory
Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy
Arca - Arca
Bonobo - Migration
Lankum - Between The Earth And Sky
Mac DeMarco - This Old Dog

There's a few I liked a lot in the year that I need to give more time to like the albums from Mount Eerie, Fever Ray, Laura Marling, Thundercat, Four Tet and Moses Sumney.

Pretty much everybody there on your 'need to give more time to' Mags, I also have a given a few spins but didn't include them for the same reason. Loads of stuff out this year. Caught Moses Sumney at EP Body and Soul stage playing to about 20 people only. Excellent show, was a pity so little knew of him/didn't bother going to see him.

Lankum - Between the Earth and the Sky
Ben Frost - The Center Cannot Hold
Benjamin Clementine - I Tell a Fly
Bjork - Utopia
Wire - Silver/Lead

Need to give that new Grails album a blast

Ah nice one I'd like to see him live, really cool sound he has going on. What a voice. Discovered him on Spotify Discover Weekly with 'Lonely World'. What a sublime track!

"Silver Eye" Goldfrapp.
Love this new album, one of their best. Saw them twice on the tour to support the album . Both were great gigs
