Remember getting Bat Out of Hell on tape as a young lad purely based on the cover, then recoiling in horror as I was confronted with THE GAYEST fucking music I had ever heard. Hated him ever since.

At his lowest level of post-BOOH popularity (early- to mid-'80s, I think), I believe he played the back room of a pub in Moate as part of a very low-key tour. I'd love to be able to say that I was there but I only heard about it years later, and I wouldn't have been a fan then.

Fuck health and safety lol

"The gig carried on, and more and more people swelled the already packed Community Centre. As this was a local gig for the tour promoter there was no way he was refusing anyone from his neck of the woods, particularly if they arrived at the door brandishing cash."

Meat Loaf was the first band I ever got big into, even before I knew heavy metal was a thing - I'd love to see him live again but not as a frigging puppet show.

Any other oul' farts remember Derek Davis and Twink parodying Dead Ringer on his variety show back in the day? I found it amusing at the time, can barely remember it now.
