No matter where or when, people will travel for the right bands, bands not also playing dublin/cork/belfast/etc the same week/month, no clashes with other tours, no shows in a week or two before or after the date would be perfect (but unlikely).....

I have a couple of bands in mind that im fairly sure i can get in that havnt played ireland in a while a most likely wont be playing anytime around august

just the fridayness of it all putting doubts in my mind as usually something like this would be on a saturday, but there's not a suitable venue in waterford that u can get on a saturday night

but yea suppose if the right bands are there then the people will be there

The Script would probably draw a crowd. Not a Metal crowd, though. They don't even play Metal. The fucking Script.

not sure if this should be here or the main forum, anyway

thinking of having a bit of a one day fest in waterford towards the end of august 09.

We have the venue sorted for pretty much any friday we want it and its a savage venue, you'd never expect to find anything like this place in Waterford.

some pics of the place can be found on the following band myspace:

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... Id=1952930

(there's pics of the cruscin in there as well, i'm sure ye can tell the difference)

The only problem is with it being a friday, would people travel travel to waterford and so that is my question to you's. Would ye travel to waterford for a friday show that'd start during the day and go late into the night?

Only one way to find out boi!

Could run a bus from Cork or some shit, think it would be cool. The Forum is a big ass place tho, might struggle to fill it, but with the right line-up It should be cunting magical!

Have you thought any more about this Martin? Now that you've got a coupla gigs with good attendances at them, wouldn't they let you have a Saturday?
Stand-Up Guy would be interested too BTW
