Last gig was the last night of the tour I believe and I must be in the minority but the gig was flat and the band seemed tired and disinterested. Now London the previous summer.... that was a different ballgame. Amazing show.

Anyway nabbed 4 standing tickets for this today.

Got my ticket.

I've been into Clutch since "Elephant Riders" but this is the first time that I'll be seeing them live.

Twice before I've had a ticket and something has happened to get in the way.

3rd time lucky.

I heard that from a few folks that went to the Academy gig in Dublin.

They played well at the Academy. Neil was on fire. The rest did their jobs. It was my first time seeing Clutch live so I've no frame of reference if they can be more than that.

Finally managed to order my ticket.

Wonder how well this is doing actually. I know that the gig in The Academy was sold out and people were still looking for tickets. Anybody know the size of the Olympia and The Academy?

Olympia is about double the capacity of the Academy I think. 1,200 odd but I'd imagine that's when the whole venue (stands/seats) is open for a gig. I've never been there, just going on a quick Google search.

The Mighty Stef?

An interesting/odd choice of support. I would have thought that it'd be Wild Rocket, Wizards Of Firetop Mountain, et al.

I didn't know that The Mighty Stef were still going until I saw a poster for a Cork show recently.

Never actually listened to The Mighty Stef but I thought they were more of an indie soft-rock thing?

Yeah, when I saw them about ten years ago they were doing a Datsuns/Jet sort of thing.

Not a band I would have picked to be opening for Clutch.

Who supported Clutch in the Academy last time out?

That Planet of Zeus are shite based on the track I listened to anyway. A real Clutch-lite sound, without any of the magic that makes Clutch stand out from other blusey hard rock bands.

I was at the gig and I can't even remember, so I googled it. Some band called "Lionize" who I honestly cannot remember a single thing about.

The new album "Psychic Warfare" is out since last week.

No sign of it in record shops here or on Spotify...
