Sólstafír
Saturday main stage headliner SÓLSTAFÍR’s unique blend of metal with beautiful melodies, psychedelic moments and a strong undercurrent of hard/classic rock comes as varied and at times appealingly bizarre as the landscapes of their native Iceland. Their latest album “Berdreyminn” was released through Seasons of Mist on May 26th 2017 and a European tour in support of the album begins on June 10th at Download, Paris.

“Berdreyminn is a work of staggering depth, tapping into an ethereal netherworld of droney guitars, mournful piano-driven dirges and prismatic crescendos that converge beyond the five bodily senses.”
Metal Hammer

Dread Sovereign
Dread Sovereign is the born dead brain child of Nemtheanga from Primordial. Years of string hacking and slashing on guitar have finally come to realization, backed by drummer Johnny King (Malthusian, ex-Altar of Plagues) and guitarist Bones (Wizards of Firetop Mountain). The blueprint is rough, raw old school doom / metal which hails of Venom, Saint Vitus, Cirith Ungol and touches of late 80s early sepulchral black metal. Their second album, For Doom The Bell Tolls was release in March 2017 through Van Records.

Abrahma
Forcefully ascending from the depths of Paris rock underground, ABRAHMA have emerged as one of the torchbearers of French heavy rock on the international scene. To date, they have played Desertfest London, Roadburn, Freak Valley Festival, Mudfest and toured Europe with Egypt, Lo-Pan, Enos and Wo-Fat. Their second album “Reflections in the Bowels of a Bird” was released through Small Stone Records in 2015. Songs heave with psychedelic fervor but also dig deeper into an influence from the early ‘90s Seattle rock scene.

Ten Ton Slug
Based in Galway and originally from the depths of Connemara in the west of Ireland, Ten Ton Slug have built a reputation for delivering formidable live performances and supporting bands such as Ohhms, Planet of Zeus and Slabdragger and most recently securing a support slot with Crowbar for their 2017 Irish tour. Ten Ton Slug won Metal 2 the Masses Ireland in May 2016 and subsequently played to a packed New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival in the UK. The band are hard at work writing new material for release in 2017, with more Irish, UK and European gigs in the works for later in the year.

King Witch
Formed in early 2015 in a cavern beneath the streets of old Edinburgh, a lead-heavy brew of old school Metal and the meatiest of 70’s classic rock emerges in the form of King Witch. Drawing comparisons ranging from Black Sabbath, Candlemass and Trouble to Mastodon and High On Fire, the band’s first song Lucid attracted instant attention and the band’s reputation has quickly grow.
Doom-laden riffs, prog flourishes and Joplin-esque vocals combine to create a monolithic new force in heavy music - King Witch.

Zlatanera
Zlatanera are a Belfast, Northern Ireland based heavy rock band formed in 2012. They have played at Bloodstock Open Air Festival and supported Heavy Metal titans Corrosion of Conformity and Grand Magus in Belfast. Zlatanera will embark on a 6 date tour of Ireland, Scotland and England with Scottish doomsters King Witch in September and October will see a run of Irish dates with Orange Goblin. Their debut album 'Legerdemain' was released in 2016.

EMERALD HAZE is a brand new boutique music event from the team behind Dublin City Council’s multi-venue, independent music and culture festival CANALAPHONIC, working in partnership with Dublin based underground promoters Mother Fuzzers Ball and Ministry of Aggroculture, Irish underground entertainment website Overdrive.ie and U.S. based heavy music site The Obelisk.net.

Church of the Cosmic Skull

Church of the Cosmic Skull is a twofold entity: a new religious movement who seek to free mankind from their material possessions and unify all living beings into a singular cosmic whole; and a 7-piece Prog/Psych supergroup based in Nottingham UK. The combination of guitar, hammond organ, electric cello, bass and drums recalls early Mahavishnu Orchestra, with six-part Queen-esque vocal harmonies and Thin Lizzy pop-rock structures. They released their debut album 'Is Satan Real?' through Bilocation Records/Kozmik Artifactz in September 2016. Having recently finished a highly commended 4 date headline tour of the UK over Easter 2017, the Church are heading out to Europe for Freak Valley Festival, Desertfest Antwerp and more to be announced soon!

Lord Vicar

As the final nails were hammered into the coffin of Reverend Bizarre in 2007, guitar player Kimi Kärki a.k.a. Peter Vicar began to follow his own doom metal vision, to play this most arcane form of metal in the way it was meant to be played - full of intensity, heaviness and force. Still firmly walking in the footsteps of Saint Vitus, Trouble, Pentagram and The Obsessed; Lord Vicar brings together an international lineup featuring former members of Reverend Bizarre, Count Raven and Saint Vitus. Their third full length album “Gates of Flesh” was release in May 2016 through The Church Within Records. Deliberately shorter than previous albums, the band sought to concentrate their trademark heaviness into shorter, punchier songs. The result is an album that the band considers their most focused and intense release to date.

Wild Rocket

Based in Dublin, Ireland, Wild Rocket have been developing their unique combination of heavy psych and kraut-infused space punk for the past five years. Since the release of their debut LP Geomagnetic Hallucinations in 2014, the band has gone from strength to strength, performing at Distorted Perspectives and Reverberation Festivals in Ireland and Hostsabbat Festival in Norway. Wild Rocket have shared stages with internationally renowned contemporaries such as Slomatics, Ufomammut, and The Cosmic Dead, and gained a reputation for pummelling and immersive live shows laden with infectious energy. This energy has been captured perfectly on their second album, Dissociation Mechanics to be released through Art For Blind Records in July 2017.

Witchsorrow

Formed by singer/guitarist Necroskull and bassist Emily Witch to embody their love for the form; Witchsorrow’s puritanical devotion to doom has become their life’s work. With the riffs, misanthropy and pure doom worship of 2010’s self-titled debut and 2012’s God Curse Us, Witchsorrow have earned a reputation as one of the UK’s finest underground doom outfits. They have played with such luminaries as Saint Vitus and Electric Wizard, toured Europe and performed at Bloodstock, Damnation and Roadburn’s Electric Acid Orgy, not to mention a headlining slot on Sonisphere’s Jagermeister Stage. Having signed to UK powerhouse Candlelight Records, their critically acclaimed third album “No Light, Only Fire” was released in 2015, and work on a fourth album is currently underway.

Electric Octopus

Aptly defining themselves as an exciting new music cabal, the playfully psychedelic Electric Octopus are proof that a free-flowing approach to music still creates sonic waves today. Whilst touring across the UK, the band have taken social media by storm with their long-form live-session records, catching the attention of almost a million listeners on Youtube alone in the year since their debut release ‘This is Our Culture’ in July 2016. Summer 2017 sees the band kick into their first proper festival season with performances lined up at Arcadian Field Festival and Sunflower Festival respectively in August and July.

Gorilla Pulp

Gorilla Pulp formed in Viterbo, Italy in April 2014. Taking influence from a wide range of blues, psych, stoner and heavy rock, they released their first single "Hell in a Can" in December 2015 and quickly followed up with a full length album “Peyote Queen” through Retro Vox Records in April 2016; selling out the first vinyl pressing in less than five months. Gorilla Pulp have racked up over 200,000 views on Youtube and continually tour Italy and Europe. Their new album "Heavy Lips", once again on Retro Vox Records is due for release in autumn 2017. The album’s first single "Prey on Your Mind" was released in March and also includes a cover of Santana's "Hope You're Feeling Better”.

Elder Druid

Elder Druid are a 5-piece sludge/doom band from Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Formed in early 2015 when five lovers of heavy riffs and molten fuzz came together to add their stamp to the world of stoner rock and doom metal. The band released their debut EP 'Magicka' through Jon Davis’ Black Bow Records in 2016.They have played a whole slew of gigs in Ireland and the U.K. since their inception including festival appearances at Voodoom and Canalaphonic, and have shared the stage with bands such as Slomatics, Hornets and Ten Ton Slug. They travel back to the U.K. for a mini-tour in July 2017, and return to the studio in August to record their first full length album.

Is it a weekend ticket or can Friday and Saturday tickets be bought separately?

There will be single day tickets later, but the full lineup will be announced before the full price weekend tickets and day tickets go on sale and we're pretty confident that €35 is a bargain for the quality festival that we have lined up even if you only go on the Saturday, so it'd be super if people could give us a dig out by buying the early birds!

Nice one. Definitely heading to this.

Great to see the likes of this and Dublin Doom Days happening.

Now if they'd only move Dublin a bit closer...

We're having some technical difficulties with the tickets at the moment. It will more than likely now be later this week before they go on sale, but we'll let you know as soon as it's sorted.
