Maybe this will be the one. 300 signatures could make the difference this time.

What is wrong with people, can they not learn from that R.O.L.L disaster that happened a few weeks back.
On a big commercial scale in ‘02 MCD put on Ozzfest at punchestown with a line up of Ozzy (who didn’t play in the end) System of a Down, Tool, Slayer etc. big acts, big line up. I’d say 15,000 tickets sold in or about. Says it all.

that whole R.O.L.L. thing ended up being an absolute laughing stock in the end. Unbelievable ineptitude from the "promoters," including but not limited to bands finding out they'd been pulled from the lineup only by way of a public facebook post and people (fans and performers alike) losing out on non-refundable accomodation/travel costs. then came the phase of ignoring or deleting criticising comments/questions, and only replying to ones praising them for "giving it a try," "being the spirit of metal," and urging them to "keep the faith for next year." Laughable.

People from Europe are unlikely to travel to Ireland fire a metal fest in vast numbers when they have innumerable fests on their own doorstep the year round. That leaves you with the Irish metal scene to rely on. There aren't enough metal people here to make it work plus with cheap flights to Europe all of the already well established festivals are easily accessible to everyone here. Although, 300 signatures... maybe!

100%
It was from what I can see hijacked by a promoter by the name of Lloyd Barber- the thing did go ahead last year with as far as I know little or no incident. The issue that needs to be addressed by him is that from what I have heard, no offer of compensation has been made to the main acts. It’s all well and good to sit and play fantasy gig time in the pub but when you go into an agreement with bands who rely on touring income and have a date boxed off on their calendar that means that they could have been playing somewhere else for the same, or more likely more money.

Unfortunately people will continue to buy into this type of event organization for the ‘love of metal’ and other such tripe. My advice would be stay clear of anything this guy plans in future as he couldn’t organize a cup of tea.
