Got a good anecdote though: Years ago I used to get stuff off Unisound Records from Greece, they were often called a rip off label by the bands on their roster, bands like Thou Art Lord and Necromass. Anyway one day I get a little slip of paper telling me there's a package in the Post Office. I go there, take my package, open it, it's from Unisound and full of LPs. But I'd not ordered any of them LOL! Free LPs! Cool! No wonder they ripped off their bands if they had to finance their splurges. Still makes me smile to think of it.
On the other hand, Lee Barret of Candlelight has 15 sterling belonging to me that I sent 12 years ago. Grrrrrrr. I'm sure he gave it to Enslaved to record Hordane's Land, thereby kickstarting his label that now puts out cheese like Opeth. Balanced easily though by Unisound! |
