| I think it's just a fancy name for a one handed drum roll. |

| Basically you just use the rim of the snare to pivot the stick up and down really fast. They are pretty easy to do, a lot easier than a one-handed roll. |

To me it's a very useful term which tells me "this is the type of death metal I'm not going to like". |

| Like someone said earlier, it's a one-handed snare roll over a fast double-kick that creates the impression of a 'double-time' blastbeat. It isn't really though as the kicks remain at the same pace. It's a bit of a cop-out all in all as it's impossible to get any power behind the snare so to make it sound properly heavy, it'll need to be triggered to f*ck. The 'none-more-brootal' crowd love it but its a bit of a gimmick all in all. |

Aye, it's part of this whole "I can blast faster than you" pissing contest which has been the cause of so much coma-inducing Death Metal in recent years. Hate Eternal would be the case in point. |

Bingo, nail, head, all that.
If you can master the proper one-handed roll technique(see Derrick Popes youtube videos) its much more solid. |

| Whatever happened to the days when we humans used to dance mindlessly around a bongo at a bonfire? We must find our roots before all hope is even loster. |

You like Terrorizer???

there is a gravity blast at about the 1.20 mark.
Does that mean you dont like it?
I get where your coming from though. I like little short bursts of it. Still cant beat the owl triplet single foot blast with a closed high hat. |

Mine was just a flippant comment. However, I can be pretty sure that I'm not going to like death metal where a lot of the discussion of its merits centres around drum terminology that I don't understand. |

| I'm with the Padre on this one. Usually when DM bands are refered to in terms of BPM it's time to have a little snooze. |
