Good stuff Bazz - hopefully they will print my letter about Terrorizer being better than Metal Hammer as well.
Funny, I have recently come to the conclusion that Terrorizer is merely Metal Hammer in disguise. I strated buying Terrorizer about ten years ago when I wanted to scope out more underground stuff than was being covered in Metal Hammer). There seems to be fuck all difference between the two anymore, though. I suppose that could be attributed to the fact that MH has gone all Metal again but also due to the fact that Terrorizer seems to churn out the same fucking bands over and again rarely giving space (beyond about three words in their Breaking Faces section, or whatever it is called now) to anything new, relevant or genuinely exciting- at least within the parameters of my own taste. |

Sure in a way doesn't every band, Primordial included, pay for all their own media exposure sooner or later. Anything that has to be paid for apparently, famously comes out of their own advances and royalties - all advertising costs etc etc etc.
So let's just stop congratulating anyone for anything 'cos at the end of the day it's all just another case of the Emperor's new clothes. |

it really depends on the deal you have with your label
century media for example used split certain advertising costs with bands in the past
which if you ask me is crazy. it makes the release of a cd a virtually non risk venture for the label
metal blade dont charge us for advertising or for placing tracks on cds etc.
but you can be guaranteed all labels work it out so they are not at a loss before bands make a penny |
