| I got the Cultes Des Ghoules- Haxan DLP in the post the other day and finally got around to giving it a proper spin today and I must say it really hits the old spot. It sounds to me like De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas being played by Mystifier... and there are even some King Diamond cackles at the start of one of the songs. Basically what I'm saying is it kicks hoop and you should be elitist as fuck, buy it and be better than everyone here who doesn't have it. Seriously. It's a good soundtrack to looking down your nose at falses. |

| I might add that it was initially begun by two of the Bestial Raids lads who have since departed but it doesn't really sound like them... apart from maybe loosely fitting under the Bestial BM tag if you are that way inclined. Woof. |

Just listening to a tune off Haxan on youtube now,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AHYgPxEtaY
sounds absolutely deadly, I see what you mean about the Mystifier/Mayhem influence. Where did you order the LP from? |

I just saw this thread now McLove!
Anyway, you're right that they're a very good band. And I agree with your description of 'Häxan' sounding like Mystifier playing DMDS.
(Now that this thread has been bumped, do you think that (a) it will turn into a 5 pager or (b) it will sink like a stone again?) |

When I got it I listened to the first track and didn't really want to listen anymore. It sounded like they were playing a childrens' television show theme song, but completely distorted.
I'll find it and give it a go again. Hopefully it will sound better the second time. |

John, I have a feeling this will be sinking right back down to the stinkiest depths at the back of the dingiest sofa on the forum never to be seen or heard from again.
Squire, you need to buy yourself some cotton buds and give it another whirl |

| Just picked this up the other day and I'm really liking it. A real genuinely unsettling obscure occult atmosphere about it. I agree with the Mystifier/DMDS description too, bang on. Definitely one for fans of stuff like Mystifier, Mortuary Drape etc. |

| Yup Definitely agree with the Mortuary Drape and De Mysteriis references. My interest in them was piqued at HP when I saw Haxan on sale at a stall. Picked it up off Invictus last week and have spun it a few times. Good horrible-sounding Stuff. |
