Fantastic weekend. Dont think i have enjoyed a weekend more.
Carcass were the band of the weekend for me. So much better than Wacken last year.
Arch Enemy ruled
Saxon were fantastic.
Europe werent too bad. Enjoyed them more there than Hellfest.
Amon Amarth were as epic as always, cant wait to see them in Dublin soon.
Blind Guardian were amazing.
Municipal Waste were fun.
Blitzkrieg i found kinda boring except for the song blitzkrieg.
Enslaved seemed interesting. Must check them out!
Kreator were the shit. Really have to see them at a headlining show!
Moonspell were great. The lights made the Hellfest show better though! But still great!
Turisas were great
Sabaton blew me away. Another new band for me to check out.
Girlschool were boring as fuck except for their last song.
Saw a bit of Entombed, found them as boring as i did when i saw them in DOD 07. Both times i went back to the tent to drink some more.
Saw a little bit of Cradle of Filth, i actually thought they were pretty good good from what i heard. But was stoned and was pissed on Morgan Spiced then, ended up getting dragged to the waltzers instead for the rest of their set. I think.
Sophie Lancaster was a whole lot of fun every night too.
The cons that stick out to me was not being able to bring crates and whatnot of alcohol into the campsite on Saturday and Sunday. Was lucky i brought so much alcohol on the Thursday/Friday to sort me out for the weekend.
Food and merchandise were very expensive compared to the likes of Wacken and Hellfest. £5 to charge a phone was robbery so i didnt bother charging, nevermind £10 at some stalls.
But indeed Bloodstock has an excellent atmosphere and really like the layout. Was cool meeting plenty of new faces including a few on here. Certainly willing to return. |

Had a great time this weekend , 'cept for that sever lack of sleep thursday.
Was good to meet some people from on here , special thanks to Zero Squiggles for em cans Sound of ya.
Bands of the weekend for me were
Satyricon - went to see em knowing about 2 songs , they were excellent. Blew me away.
Blind Guardian - Brilliant , didnt know any of their stuff but thoroughly enjoyed em.
Wolf - brilliant , great entusiasm onstage
Kreator - i enjoyed watching Mille being a psycho onstage, thought he was gonna kill someone . Pity they had a terrible sound from where i was standing though.
Also enjoyed Amon Amarth, Carcass, Sodom , Enslaved , Cradle ,Moonspell , Entombed , Candlemass n Anathema.
BAD
Ridiculous prices for merch...which didnt really stop me but still!
Turisas fans acting like complete knobs
Security being such a pain with people that had cans
Winters , Don Stevo and Bunit assulting my fucking tent! |

Apparently it was actually a giant gobstopper from the sweet stall. They found loads of them on the stage. Someone was using a catapult which they bought at one of stalls with them. That's madness selling catapults at a festival though..
Merch is pretty limited at Bloodstock always unfortunately. Asked the people on the stalll what the story was with having no Amon Amarth, Europe or Turisas t-shirts on the Sunday & she said that the first 2 never brought any & Turisa's stuff got lost on the way over.
Thought the men in the Mankinis were pretty funny until on Saturday one of the rather large men, kept on fiddling with his, obviously not used to wearing a thong. Not too hygienic really considering there was no running water to wash yours hands in the festival grounds. Nearly turned me off my falafel |

security at the front of stage told us it was a cricket ball.
didnt have a problem getting my cans into festival site and judging by the amount of cans on the ground near the stage not many people did haha, god that pit area stank, was like a mix of weed, sweat and piss.
Satyricon bored the crap outa me til mother north and fuel for hatred.
Amon amarth were good as to be expected, singer is a funny cunt
Candlesmass were class pity they didnt play well of souls.
really enjoyed carcass was wankered going mental in the pit.
the rotted were good too though cant remember much
didnt plan on watching arch enemy but they were decent, ya one can sure growl.
got bored at kreater after a few tunes anf fucked off
seen abgott too but really cant remeber anything from that.
entombed and enslaved were alright , alotta bands had mic trouble at start of their sets.
great craic all round and not too many wankers at it. |

Insane craic, great festival, I want more!
Dying at work now, should have taken this Tuesday off.
Everybody I met there are just fucking great people.
Most of the bands blew me away especially Carcass, Kreator and Satyricon.
Will post pics later. |

back to work today, knackered and sore from camping!!! a great festival though, good craic!
some of my favourite bands of the weekend were Blind Guardian, Satyricon, Kreator, Moonspell... was unexpectedly disappointed by Carcass, thought they were lacking something.... thought the throwing shit at COF was very bad form, very disappointing for the wee ones that were there to see them.... |

| Suprised by the positive reviews for Kreator, any time I've heard of anyone watching them in the past few years and from my own experience with them live, Mille sounded like absolute shite. Good stuff so! |

Fucking fantastic weekend!!
Blind Guardian, Carcass, Satyricon, Wolf & Saxon were the bands of the weekend for me.
Municipal Waste - Good at what they do, but everything blended in together. Nothing special about them.
Saxon - First time seeing them, didnt know too much, maybe about 5 or so songs. Blew the tits off me, i'll deffo be checking them out alot more then before. Biff is the man.
Arch Enemy - Third time seeing them, good show, enjoyed them but they could have been alot better. They were much better in London last year.
Carcass - Fucking deadly. Simple as. I shall be investing more time into these boyos.
Wolf - Love these lads, great show, shame they only got a half hour. Evil Star & The Bite being highlights. Thoroughly enjoyable band.
Entombed - Great sound. Deadly songs. October ahoy.
Candlemass - Good live band, not something i could listen to on cd though.
Enslaved - Not my thing. Not shit by any means but i can live knowing i'll never see them again.
Kreator - Sound wasnt the best but fuck me they are deadly live. Mille is hilarious & angry as hell. Flag of Hate
"I lied to the muthafucka!"
Apocalyptica - Grand. I dont mind singing Metallica in a field of a few thousand at all.
Blind Guardian - Uber-deadly. The chorus kings. Band of the weekend. Valhalllllaaa!!
Cradle of Filth - Not a fan. Gave them a chance. Id enjoy them alot if they didnt have a shite sounding gimp doing vocals. Left before the end. I was really pissed off i missed the whole gobstopper incident. Wouldve had a great laugh at that.
Anathema - Good at what they do. Not my thing
Amon Amarth - HELL OOO!! Johan Hegg is an absolute beast of a man. Brilliant band. Roll on October.
Satyricon - I was expecting alot. Fuck me did i get it. Unbelievable. Start to finish perfect. Satyr is one of the best front men ive ever seen.
Europe - Wasnt expecting anything good except that song. I was wrong. Actually enjoyed them. Good oul cheesy hard rock. Fair deuce. |

Great weekend. Some quality performances from Kreator, Wolf, M$R, Blind Guardian, Carcass, Arthemis, Europe etc.. but Sabaton really stole the whole show. Probably the best live act out there today, at festivals at least. Killer stuff.
Special mention to those girls at the crepe stand. Fuckin insane girls and insanely hot. Legends |

Epic weekend! Amon Amarth blew me away, they were definitely the highlight of the festival for me. I was in the third row when they were playing, twas awesome. Why they weren't one of the headliners is beyond me. Roll on October!
Carcass, Blind Guardian, Enslaved, Turisas, Kreator, Entombed,
Satyricon, Sabaton, Sodom, Municipal Waste, Saxon, Katatonia and Abgott were all savage too. It was an amazing weekend!
The DJ at the Monster Tower was a legend. He was banging out some serious tunes. The walls of death and circle pits were a great laugh too, even if I am in bits from them now.
The Sophie Lancaster stage was brilliant. The bands I saw there were all top class. The DJ on Sunday night was great. Speaking of which, did any of you see Emile and Ian dancing around in their jocks?
The merchandise stands were a bit expensive, but I'm Irish, so my bargaining skills were in full swing...and worked a charm! |
