| Don't know much about the fantasy genre at all but I've heard that one mentioned as being up there with a song of ice and fire a couple of times. Worth a look then Greame? |

Quote: You can just all read the Malazan series instead if he starts pushing daisies.
As much as I loved A song of file and ice. The malazan book of the fallen series in my opinion is better. As far as I know it even started out as a pilot for a TV series.
Think I need to post on other topics besides The malazan book of the fallen |

I presume/hope he's probably holding off releasing the next book until the series starts and there's a bit of interest in it. At least the tv series will hopefully give him an incentive to get his arse in gear. Don't fancy waiting another 5 years.
I'll be very disappointed if the lesbo scene with Cersei and Lady Merryweather isn't included when they get to filming a feast for crows. I've already got the sock I'm gonna use picked out.
The trailer i think briefly shows Cersei in an intimate scene with another lady so i believe your wish has been granted! He really needs to release one of the books this year. |

Cool! Fantastic books altogether!
Quote: Filming locationsPrincipal photography for the first season of the series was scheduled to begin on July 26, 2010,[1] with the primary locations being Paint Hall Studio in Belfast, Northern Ireland,[30] and Malta, a change in location from Morocco.[1] For the initial shooting of the pilot in 2009,[26] additional filming locations included Carncastle,[31] Shane's Castle,[32] Castle Ward,[33] Magheramorne[34] Tollymore Forest Park[32] in Northern Ireland, and Doune Castle in Scotland.[35]
Hopefully this will be done well. I'm really looking forward to it. I really liked that "Pillars of the Earth" done on the Ken Follett book last year (I know not the same type of thing really). It wasnt 100% to the book at all but still done really really well. |

Yeah, the trailers on youtube look pretty cool. There's one where GRRM is interviewed and seems fairly happy with how it went, so I'd like to think it'll turn out pretty well.
Wasn't mad on that Pillars of the Earth really Jim. Ian McShane's character was very good, but most of the others were lacking I thought. Never read the book, but I got the impression that there was an awful lot missing too. |

| I thought Pillars of The Earth was fantastic, I must say. I haven't read the book either. Ian McShane was brilliant in it and there was a couple of proper rides in it too. Good TV. |

Yeah, definitely worth picking up. There's not a lot of happiness in them though. |

It's debut was last night in the U.S. I watched it this morning here http://www.watchgameofthrones.com/
It has so much nudity in it and Emilia Clarke is unbelievably class |

I'm sure a few of ya are aware of this, but there's a few familiar faces in this regarding the northern metal scene.
Aaron Dumigan AKA 'The Beard' - ex Gacys Threads, current Skeptus member
Chris McConnell ex - choke
are both extras in this, far as I remember....
The Beard is the soldier in the background (middle)
