Y'see, even from the depths of despair there's always solace to be had from juvenile gutter humour.

Also I guess I'll announce it now as I've been holding on to it for a while in the hope that things will improve, to no avail as it happens .

For various reasons it seems that, currently GD cannot function in the manner that is required to progress and evolve as I for one believe is necessary to keep things fresh and interesting. As a result of this some members of the band have decided that they no longer wish to continue, which leaves our future hanging in the balance. Permanent replacements are not an option as to do so would significantly alter the dynamic of the band I feel and I'd rather not do that to any major degree. So the 3 remaining members find ourselves in limbo though reluctant to throw in the towel and return to the dormant stage we existed in for years again yet tempted by the thoughts of a life without the hassle, grief and squabbles that are partly responsible for where we find ourselves now.

If we succeed in our 'plan'(i use that word loosely)then this may be a new chapter in the GD story. But it's a tall order and we're under no illusions.
However I think its safe to say that having spent most of our existance flying under the radar so to speak that we can now focus purely on creating music that pleases our own ears with no delusions of grandeur. Its either back to basics time or we bow out with grace...or damnation.

Shitty news, man. I hope you get it sorted.

Finally got my ass around to getting the album. What a treat! One of the best Irish releases I've ever heard. Super musicianship and songwriting. I just wish yous could get it together and do some live shows!

Gary just told me...this is pants.
I was so proud to have such an influential, talented band hail from just down the road....but if this is the way it is then so be it.
I look forward to any new stuff you have coming our way K.
Ye wee cretter...

Finally got my hands on this cd......left it far too long anyway. It's a real piece of excellence. Heavy as fuck and great production and the songwriting is faultless. On my 3rd listen now and the songs sink in pretty quick...The sound is unmistakeably GD which after all these years listening to the band bodes well. In short this is one of the best Irish releases of the past 10 years in my opinion.
You mentioned "evolve" Kieran well is that really so necessary? After 15 years or more there certainly is a marked improvement in overall songwriting and structure but nothing drastic. Given some of the reviews ye have got it seems to me ye have a winning formula so don't change things too drastically....but you can do a VENOM cover Laughing

Stick with it lad....don't throw in the towel yet as I have every confidence your time will come sooner rather than later.

Appreciate your words of wisdom Pat my good man. Maybe 'evolve' is a bit arty farty for us alright. '
'Exist' might have been more accurate. Rolling Eyes

There is a loose plan for the future though so every cloud 'n' all that.

As for a Venom cover,I've always been the one shouting for that to happen, even just for fun. What one to choose though!! I tend to jam Venom riffs when practicing and I do have one in mind that would sound deadly played slower than the original, dirty it up a bit if thats possible. Problem is its a tad on the long side even for us. (And thats a hint btw)

Hadn't considered that one.

An edited AWWS would be first choice. Shit, the list is endless really.

Almost a year since this thread skulked away into the abyss. How time flies.
Anyway, now that I've resurrected this horse for one last and long overdue flogging I'll get straight to the point.

There are still some copies of the album available for the princely sum of €6 incl P+P. For anyone not yet acquainted I have included links for a few 'new' reviews. New in the sense that I hadn't seen them before today.
