The shows only flaw is that I have to wait a whole fucking week to see the next one as soon as I've watched an episode. Not the worst flaw, mind

Anyone else have a profound hatred for Aidan Gillen?

He's playing an absolute bastard in the show and is very good at it. Either he is a really good actor or he needs a good beating anyway Laughing

Ah I think he's decent at playing the sly, duplicitous character he has to

Gillen is saved only by his depiction of Mayor Carcetti in The Wire, otherwise, he's a horrid cunt

I think it's just the most obvious bit of acting I've ever seen.

to be honest, there's an awful lot of fucking dreadful acting in this show and i find it very off-putting to the story. tried like hell to get into it, but it's like somebody wrapped the cast of holby city in loin cloths at times.

He's made his mark as cunt as far as the characters he usually plays.
So perfect for his roll in the series.

Fair enough! Some of the acting isn't great. But it is a complete fantasy, so I think they can get away with it.

As for the Holby City comment.
Jayzus! No other show could be that bad.

Didn't think that myself at all about the acting...yer wan playing Daenerys isn't very convincing I'll admit, most of the others are very good to excellent I think.

My only gripe is with the hound. I don't think he comes across as evil or dangerous as he is in the books.

I started watching the show first, before I read the book. Now that I've finished the book over the last few days, and watched the first episodes again, I'm astounded at how well it has been realised on the screen. Some of the characters are indivisible between the two media to me now: Ned Stark, King Robert, Jon Snow, Jaime and Tyrion Lannister in particular. Great casting.

Aye, the casting for King Robert was spot on. Arya is perfect too.

40 minutes into the latest episode and I thought to myself - Is this the first episode not to have nudity? - then the whore goes and shows her cunt for tuppence, had to laugh.
