What a fest/trip. Only arrived back last night after spending 2 days shy of a fortnight in Krautland.
Great craic on the train down on the Thursday and at the festival area. Bar a downpour on Thursday afternoon the weather held all weekend. Enjoyed Nifelheim, Reveal, Black Oath, Tribulation (band of the fest?), Negative Plane, Ghost, Jex Thoth and Root. Thought Candlemass were a total let-down. Left halfway thought the set.
Dixie wanks, Scobes post pile-up moans, street - puking Ryan, hulk hogan wedgies, unfindable genitals, Schnapps bullet belts, Mourning Beloveth punch ups and more contributed to some great anecdotes and laughs.
Andy Cunningham was by far the biggest disaster of the weekend, closely followed by Barry who, despite claims of irony, was loving Ghost and dancing like a maniac with Darragh for most of the set.
The show in Berlin after was great too. Blackland is a deadly venue. Rammed to the gills. Only really caught the majority of Tribulation who were even better than the previous set at HP. The rest was spent in the outdoor area nattering till the small hours.
4th time doing the same trip and the HP leg is definitely one I'd continue to do in the future. The Line-ups are always good, has the banter to match, great merch stalls, and the small size is just right. Its quality evident in the massive amount of familiar faces in the crowd each year. |

| I like the fact Barry dancing/singing to Ghost was basically predicted by Darragh in the thread and by about 8 others on the train on the way there. |
