| What are peoples experiences? I found out my health insurance provider offers me a 22.5% discount on surgery performed by Optical Express which seems to be a fantastic deal. I was wondering exactly how prices vary with the various providers as well as the after effects. It's something I might consider for the new year. |

best thing I ever did Barry and the best thing you will ever do. For a few grand you have new eyes its science fiction man and we´re living it. Optical Express in Blackrock I went to, I was in and out in no time.
Go for the more expensive treatment don´t fuck around with your eyes and deffo take a good few days off to relax man, worst thing u can do is go straight into work on Monday after doing it on Saturday. Air conditioning and looking at screens can jeopardise it and its just not worth it.
I got mine done 2 years ago and I can honestly say its the best thing I ever did in my life. My eyesight wasnt bad but I started playing football again and hitting passes like I did when I was 15...better though. Also u can see girls across bars, sunsets, car number plates all sorts of shit you could never see.
No fucking around just do it! |

| Thankfully I don't need this, but the thought of being unconscious and someone fucking around with my eyes is terrifying! |

If you thought Nemty looked like he was in Waylander you definitely need eye surgery! |

| Aren't you conscious for the whole thing? I've heard stories of being able to smell the burning. No way could I do it, four eyes for life! |

| Most people I know have had good things to say, but there are some people who can never handle air conditioning again, for example we had one in an office had to quit her job in National Momuments because of the side effects a year or so after she got it done. A on optician acquaintance of mine also told me that you should stay away from it if you suffer from naturally dry eyes . |

you´re not unconcious..where the hell do people come up with this stuff. You can ask for morphine to calm you which I didnt but honestly I´m a chickenshit and even for me it was over quite quickly. The whole procedre lasts about 20 seconds on each eye.
All these horror stories hmmmm I dunno, I know loads of people who got it done and it works. The dry eyes thing can be true to a point but that will all be checked beforehand. I knw my old boss at work had some dry eye problems but from talking to colleagues he of course being the cock that he is thought he knew better than the doctor and was back in work on Monday after getting the operation done on Saturday and expecting to be 100% on computers in an air conditiooned office.
Forget all that nonsense, you get the surgery done and go home and sit in the dark, sleep as much as possible and allow urself to heal. Use loads of eye drops which they give you and just stay away from books and TV for 3 or 4 days and next thing u know u can see shit u could never have believed u would. |

I just assumed you would be unconscious, what with the big lazers being blasted through your eyes, as is my understanding of the procedure. |

| Only worth it if the resultant surgery allows one to shoot lasers out on ones eyes. |

Rob had it done, I think he said you are conscious but can't do much with your eyes so you don't notice what's happening. They don't actually burn anything, it's all vaporisation so there's no smell. |
