Yeah, if i remember rightly was a bit of a fair collision, a brief tangle of legs and they both went down. But as football matches go it was fairly well reffed.

It was a good game. TO be fair to Dublin and to Pat Gilroy in particular, previous versions of that Dublin team would have crumbled once Kerry retook the lead with 15 mins left. Kerry will probably feel they should have won but Dublin won some balls that they shouldn't have and Kerry's legs grew a bit tired when Dublin came at them again.

Cluxton kicked much sooner than I thought he would, he did well and will probably get MOTM. Although you could make a case for Alan Brogan, Paul Flynn and you could argue for Kevin McMennamen turning it at the crucial moment.

I though Darragh O'Sullivan had a great game. Skillwise for me he's head and shoulders above every other Gaelic footballer at the minute. He is one of a very few set who understand the concept of space on a football pitch.

Ram Sam up yer dot.
Didn't get to see the match due to work. Reading the report suggests the 2nd half was just a pure thriller. I'd say Hill 16 had some atmosphere when Cluxton scored that clincher.

Yeah,but isn't this supposed to be " a mans game" !

Let's call a spade a spade here, he knew that Cluxton would send it over the bar with ease so he looked for and got a soft one, which is understandable at that stage in a tight game.

If that was a soccer match then I could just about see a ref giving a free for that! He's nearly looking to see where the ref is before he hits the ground ffs Laughing

Cant argue with the kick though,he didnt waste much time,I'd say he could send those over the bar with his eyes closed.

Was there for the 12 apostles in '83 too. I don't remember posting last night at all. I tried to have a pint for every year since we last won the All Ireland and got as far as 2008 Laughing

Crazy, but I'm sure they'll mend their bridges. McGuinness will be under too much pressure to leave him out I'd say, will only take a few bad games.

By the way anyone watch the Aussie Rules games. Seems like a dead duck at this stage. Australia put out a team of kids and it wasn't even televised down there apparently. The shinty/hurling is much better but doesn't offer the car crash TV that the Australians do when someone gets smashed up or there's a fight.

The compromise rules was a big let down indeed. The aussies didn't want to know and i can't see any future for it unfortunately. I used to love it when it was a killing session.

Anyway, the county club championships are completed and the provincial series gathers pace. In the football it looks like Crossmaglen will be hard to stop, i've seen them a few times this year and they are machines. Well drilled, very fit, utterly ruthless and are talented footballers to a man. i've noticed on some of the GAA forums that many believe that club football in Armagh must be weak if Cross keep winning year in year out. I disagree. It's not as if Cross win Armagh and go nowhere, is it ? They are light years ahead of any club in Ireland in terms of preperation and dedication from squad members.

Crossmaglen could put it up to many of the county teams in Ireland. That's not an exaggeration either.

Right so, time to knock this one up again.

League finals upon us. Good to see the Cork hurlers back to their old selves again. Not sure if they can beat the Cats though. If they did that would be some return to form. Good to see Seán Óg again too.

As for the football, Tyrone should account for Kildare. Tyrone looking like they'll make a run this year. Mayo's win over Kerry has all them out west banking on Sam this year but we've seen it all before. I think Cork will be lifting the football trophy to an empty stadium by the end tomorrow.

Sad news about DJ Carey. Thankfully he hasn't had a heart attack, just panic attacks. its a shame some rotten cunt decided to run to the papers about him and those same cunting toilet-papers running it. Great hurler and by all (respected) accounts a sound lad. Hope he gets back to himself soon.

As for whats gone on in Meath this year, well, this year is a write off for a start. The county board, the underage structure and club fixtures all need to be badly revamped. The county board have been the same old faces for a long time with a game of musical chairs going on with all the relevant positions.

Its time lads like O'Rourke, Harnan, McEntee and Flynn who have had plenty to say over the years to get involved not at the administrative level. Pressure needs to be put on the county board to step aside. Progressive has been a dirty word for them. The idea seems to be that what worked in 1990 should work today.
