Only found out about these guys recently and I think they're absolutely class. Haunting, atmospheric black metal from Austria, signed to Napalm. Hadn't heard anything about them at all but they seem to have been going for a good while and have released a significant enough amount of material. This video first caught my eye (and ear), great stuff:

dunno, sounds pretty average to me.

it's maybe something I should bring up in the "atmospheric black metal" thread but a lot of what's passing for "atmospheric" at present seems to have no atmosphere or soul whatsoever. for BM that track seems too clean and anodyne for my liking.

Fair enough. I'm into Alcest/Les Discrets/Fen/all that airy faerie carry on so the relatively clean production doesn't really bother me. Not that I'd really compare Hellsaw to them mind. The relatively clean sound seems to only really be present on their new album anyway, also entitled 'Trist'. You may enjoy this from their last album, bit more mid-paced balls about it.

Yep, I agree with the above. That's a complete bore and less of this "atmospheric black metal" shit. As retarded a title as the thread with the same name.

Saw them in Austria a couple of years ago and they were quite enjoyable live.
Still haven't picked up anything of their's though.
