great fuckin gig... seen them in SFX 1996 and RDS 2002, both were incredible and this one was easily as good!
setlist i thought was class....
Opening with predicatable/lies from the first album.....amazing.
I agree also, silveria is missed but the new guy is some drummer/performer! |

how long did you stay Matt. I'd have thought the time wasted would be worse than spending a fiver!! |

Don't understand in this day and age people going to see headline bands and not being familiar with their material especially when bands are touring new albums and setlists are available on the internet. For me personally knowing the songs enhances the whole live experience and can be the difference from an alright gig to a great one.
Went to see Iron Maiden in the o2 in 2010 with a friend who was just familiar with their pre Fear Of The Dark material and he ended up leaving a third of the way through as he did not know any of the songs whereas I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the setlist. |

Maiden are one of those bands were alot of people only know/like their 'classic' material. Thats stuff which comes up on greatest hits. Their loss.
But if Metallica started playing stuff from their last 4 albums only id be pretty annoyed |

To be honest man I'm the opposite, I don't think it enhances the show. I completely prefer the surprise aspect about a show. In the past, I knew exactly what the concerts were like before I even got there...Stage props, set-list, even what bands say before certain songs and it took away the fun out attending a concert. Lately I've gone back to the old way of not knowing a thing about the shows until I'm there and I much prefer it...Better adrenaline when you see the stage get set up for headline band also.
Even though I didn't know much of the set last night, I still loved it as I knew nothing about it or what was coming next. The rare tunes I didn't really know from the first 2 albums have got me playing those 2 albums all day...I even bought Life is Peachy this morning. If I knew the set-list in advance, I wouldn't have been excited about the gig at all because it wasn't really what I was expecting if that makes sense. |

| As for the gig iself I thought Korn were fantastic and it was great to see them in an intimate venue. Open as I am to all music including many types of electronica and with the The Path Of Totality totally growing on me I don't think I was as bored out of my skull at a gig as I was during JD's set with Downlink's being slightly better if only for the remix of SOAD's Chop Suey! |

| I understand what you mean Reborn but I don't necessarily mean the running order or the stage set up, its just knowing the songs even if you don't know what they are going to play on the night. I have went to see bands in the past and came away disappointed when they haven't played any songs off their latest LP and have been at gigs where a band plays new songs off their unreleased next album like what Rush did last year and Iron Maiden did in 1990 and they just washed out over me due to being unfamiliar. |

Yeah, both have pro's and con's really...For me, after I hear a song i'm not familiar with I check it out the next day and I usually end up liking it more after hearing/seeing it performed live.
Also just to add, for some reason I thought Korn would be opening with Get Up and only doing 2 other songs from the new album...Think I briefly saw a set from earlier in the year online somewhere and it was something like that. I was actually planning on picking up the new album but when I saw that set, I didn't bother in the end. As much as I hate that 'wubstep' shit, I must get it, tracks sounded good live. |

To be honest, it wasn't awful cause I was into them as a gosser but it was my last fiver and in that respect it was a waste. |
