Hey guys,
Have a guitar kept in good condition however, when I was a young buck I decided to put a load of stickers on the body roughly 10 years ago. The body paint is black. Wondering what is the best way to take these off??? Would love to get rid of them...I don't mind giving it a paint job though if I have to.
Also, I want to rebuild it a bit...Buy a new neck (looking for material for a strat), is there a good site to buy these things off or am I best just getting everything 2nd hand?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Colin. |

For the stickers I just use a damp cloth, maybe a small bit of washing liquid, and soak the stickers untill they just peel off or will scrape off, obviously using something that wont actually scrape the guigtar as well.
As for parts, what make of guitar is it and what parts are you looking for exactly? There are tonnes of websites and shops that sell replacement parts for nearly all makes of guitars, but if your looking for something specific I can probably point ya in the right direction. |

Nice one, just thought because the stickers are on it for so long that it might have become part of the body by now
Its an Aria Strat, it was my first guitar and hate to see it get no use really...It would be nice to do it up abit and see it get more use as its been kept in good condition, just hate the neck on it really so would like to see if I can change it with anything better. Definitely not after a floyd rose neck anyway. Need 2 volume knobs too actually and I'll definitely change the pick ups at some stage...Might put in Invaders or something similar into it.

I had stickers on one of my guitars for years and they came off with no hassle with what I suggested there so ya should be alright!
I'd reckon you should check out Warmoth Guitars - they do parts for guitars as well as completely new necks and the like. If its a more traditional set up you'd be goin for then they should be able to cater to what your after! |

You can get the stickers off handily enough but they might leave some residue which can be removed using some lighter fluid to loosen it. The fading might be a little different under the stickers compared to the rest of the body but you won't know what it'll look like until after you take them off.
You can get good replacement necks from warmoth but they can be a bit pricey. There are other companies like Mighty mite but I don't know much about them. There always necks going cheap on eBay too. When getting a neck you'll want to make sure you get one with the right scale and number of frets as well as matching the neck pocket of your body. I don't know if Aria used a normal fender sized heel but you might need to do some alterations to the neck pocket to get a replacement neck to fit properly. |

Cheers guys, got the stickers off...Bit of a fading left on the body from the ac/dc and metallica stickers but ill sort that out easily enough id say.
Still need to change the volume/tone knobs.
Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. Might post a picture up here of the finished result |

| I had a few issues with the replacement neck on my Aria despite it being a similar series. The guy who fitted it had to put a shim at the side as there was a 1mm gap. I think Mighty Mite tend to do just Strat/Tele necks under license rather than the superstrat style. |

| Aye I had an old Aria strat shape and the heel of the neck was wider than the average strat so be careful with replacements lad. |
