| If big Eck can relegate both sides of Birmingham in successive seasons it'll be some achievement. |

Agreed. Then he could replace Hodgson at West Brom when he gets the England job! |

Incredible. First player to score at least 40 goals in successive seasons in one of the top European leagues. Love the fact that the 80m price tag should put massive pressure on him/make it nearly impossible for him to justify that amount/etc and then he goes out and smacks home 138 goals in 136 games for Madrid. Easily up there with the best ever. |

Hala Madrid! My Spanish club, great win last night and a brilliant performance from CR7, now if only he'd take a wage cut and come and play for the Toffees. |

Very true, he dosnt get enough credit cause of the aul Messi fella.
I think Ronaldo is far more exciting to watch, with Messi ye know your in for dribbles, dinks, and the same general Messi class... but with Ronaldo, the man is capable of doing anything on a football pitch.
I always wonder what Messi would be like at a different club, without Xavi, Inestia etc feeding him.
Ye'd never see Messi attempt this in a match http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnKitHD1xdc |

As opposed to Ronaldo at Real/United where he has always had world class players feeding him too? He is shite for Portugal for one where as Messi plays as a playmaker for Argentina and he does quite well |

Disagree about the international level man, anytime i've watched Messi, he goes missing quite alot on duty. Ronaldo can be just as lethal for Portugal as club level.
And yeah Ronaldo played/plays in a great United/Madrid teams, but there no Barcelona.
This is just my opinion of course... |

The table doesn't lie, we've dropped points against other teams, doesn't mean they're better though, just on the day. |

I think Messi is class for argentina. Every time he plays for Argentina he gets an assist and people think because he didn't score he didn't play well. Also every game I have seen Barca without Messi they look lost..
It is a pointless debate though as neither can compare to Djimi Trarore in his prime |

I refuse to believe Commolli was 100% responsible targeting Henderson, Adam, Carroll and Downing. If you look at the history of Dalglish's transfer spending they are exactly the type of players he looks for. They just haven't worked out. In fact, there's a good source stating Adam and Downing is 100% on Dalglish.
This may just be a prelude to FSG clearing house in the summer, if so, it'll be interesting to see how they handle it.
And for posterity:
Quote: Llambias explained: "It is about control. We had the control. We knew the Torres deal was there. We drew that f****** deal, perhaps the ultimate. So £30m? F*** off! Don't waste my time and I slammed the phone down.
"£35m? Everybody including Pardew [manager Alan Pardew] all agreed. But the £35m they wanted to pay over four years. It was rubbish. Mike (Ashley) said - and he is a brave boy Mike I promise you - get all the £35m up front. We got it all up front and then they never paid us on time and we charged them 12 grand f****** interest."
12 grand interest
