| I am thinking about going somewhere in Europe for a week at the end of September. I was thinking about going to Germany or the Czech Republic but I haven't really done any research as of yet. Can I have some thoughts on anywhere people have found to be interesting place for a bit of a change please? |

Rome is always a good one. The Collesium, st peter's square and the ice cream alone. And you can always get a day trip to Pompeii as well.
Dont know much about Germany or the Chek republic i'm afraid. |

There's a thread here about intertailing that has peoples experiences and reviews (albeit a little short in parts) about the cities and countries that they visited. Might be worth a browse, just to see if there's something there that really grabs your attention.
I'm gonna say Krakow, but Poland will be mental this summer.

Thought it was longer, but still give it a whirl. |

In fairness, Oslo is a pretty dull place. You'd probably kill yourself out of boredom if you were there for a full week. Krakow, Prague and Budapest are probably my favourite cities, you could easily travel between two if you wanted to split it. Berlin is also great, Barcelona is great too and its coastal so nice beaches. Athens is incredible too. |

I spent two weeks touring around Normandy visting all the towns/museums/cemeteries in 2007. Highly recommended if you love your WW2 history. Had lunch in Carentan and visited all the landing beaches.
I thoroughly recommend it. It's so flat as well that it would make a great cycling holiday. |

The Euros will be long over by September, and anyway Kraków isn't a host city. |

I recommend Praha - Wroclaw - Krakow - L'viv. You can do the whole trip by train, 4 great cities and czech / poland / ukraine to boot |

Venice.
2 expressos for €18 in San Marcos Plaza. And we only wanted to use the jacks.
Still Venice is great. Italy is my favourite place in Europe.
Slovenia is next on the list. |
