| I can't believe how many people are citing KFAD and AOTY as their favourites! Those albums had their moments alright but were without a doubt the decline of the band's creative peak. This thread inspired me to whack on The Real Thing today, so much respect. I agree with what has been said about that album sounding very dated but oddly enough it is that whacky MTV sound of the late eighties/ early nineties that makes it so special. You simply couldn't create an album like it today. Day-glo pop funk thrash metal deadliness. And I love Mike's vocals on it too. As much as I love Angel Dust it's timeless sound actually makes it a bit less special for me than TRT. |

Aye I said it sounded dated, but the title track will always be my favorite FNM tune I think. A total classic. |

I picked up 'Angel Dust' on the strength of the recommendations in this thread. All I have to say is, 'Wow!' Everything about it is just amazing.
The funny thing is, I actually had The Real Thing years ago but it never did anything for me. I think it was because I was really only into full-on metal, which it wasn't, and those bratty vocals of Patton really grated on me. It's more than a little annoying that TRT actually put me off the band for almost a decade while Angel Dust was out there, waiting to be discovered.
The moral of the story is, no matter what you're into right now - buy Angel Dust! |

Angel Dust for me too, from land of sunshine to Everythings ruined is so fucking good. I remember watching them perforn "Everythings Ruined" on channel 4's "The Word" just before the album release and ear jizzing.
Anybody else see them in the olympia last time around - great crowd, great gig and a suprising setlist - I don't really listen to TRT anymore but freaked out when they played Suprise Your Dead........good banter with the audience too........anybody remember him slagging Axl?
Uglly in the Mornings, Ricochett, Digging the Grave and The Gentle Art of making Enemies of King for a day are great fuckin tunes - I'd head there next Stephen Ireland.
I love "Introduce Yourself" but not as a metal album, Chuck Mosleys sing on the Crab song & his almost lazy style on Annies song are great - I also picked up the solo album "Will Rap Over Hard Rock for Food" he released a few years and bar ""Tractor"" it was pretty shit.
I'm gaying out here but FNM's version of the Bee Gee's "I Started a joke" is class.  |

| I really love 'The Real Thing', my Uncle bought me it when I was 11 and I've loved it since. Havn't really checked out anything else tho but I've always heard Angel Dust is class |
