“Drought” has the sour taste of the inexorable; it is a musical journey through the last moments before disaster hits. This recording displays some of the most lethal song writing ever witnessed from the band while retaining their unmistakable sound

... out June 22, apparently.

I hope it is not going to be more of that BM mathcore stuff.

Now this is something I have very high expectations for.

Most of what they've done since 'Si Monumentum...' is just too widdly for me. To be honest, my favourite DSO is the split with Clandestine Blaze.

I prefer Hirilorn to anything DSO have ever done tbh. "Legends of evil and Eternal Death" is a masterpiece

still think Kenose is the best thing they'll ever do, Fas...is the only other one of the more recent efforts that I'd have even a passing knowledge of.

they strike me now as a bit like Revenge. one album and you're sorted, so just pick your favourite.

I've stated my opinion on DSO's modern works before, so I'll save us all some teeth-gnashing and not rehash it here. But I will say that the recent Blut Aus Nord releases seemed to me to do exactly what DSO tried.

I'd recommend Drastus btw, he's been doing the whole doom/drone/blasting chaos thing for longer. Even if newer stuff really has a ruins of beverast-y feel (this is not a bad thing).

I enjoy everything they've done so I'm looking forward to this.

I really liked the BAN albums from last year, first time really bothering with them since TWWTG, but the drum machine is a constant irk for me, which is also how I feel about Drastus.

Fond of all DSO, but the material has taken on a completely different vibe to that found on 'Si Monumentum...', which would still be a favourite. Looking forward to new material, nonetheless.

I think BAN have a very different approach and aura, though.

Would also definitely recommend Drastus. Great material.

The artwork. Not too gone on it myself. I quite the like the main image of the man weeping but the background doesn't do anything for me. Small qualm though, still really looking forward to this EP.

Savage. Very much along the same lines as Paracletus. Production is animal.

Very much looking forward to this.

On the artwork: the foreground image on its own would have been far more effective.

Ya, I agree. The rest is a bit too busy with no real obvious meaning.
