My name is Leigh and I am organising with the help from the Tailgunners Motorbike Club a Charity Fundraiser to help raise awareness and funds for Necrotising Fasciitis which is a flesh easting disease.
This will be happening July-August this year, dates to be confirmed. There will be newspaper coverage and am appealing for blues / rock and rock cover bands to play, donating their time to this worthwhile charity.

| Leigh it might be an idea to get one of the Tailgunners to get in touch with Stevie Shanks from the Quay Vipers MCC. He also drums in Flash Harry and was in Ashanti back in the day so you might get something out of that |

Necrotising Fasciitis is more commonly known as the flesh eating bug or gangrene. It is a severe streptococcal infection and anyone can have this through any knock, cut or surgery.
The charity that helped my mum and family through this terrible ordeal are backing us on this fundraising event . They are a worldwide charity and are working with 12 European countries in order to raise awareness of this disease. We work with the Health Protection Agency (previously known as the Public Health Laboratories) in Colindale/London and also with many consultants etc; from other hospitals. And many more organisations.
The stats for this disease are at the moment are unknown, but we can hazard a guess of approximately 5,000 people per year. We are desperate to raise as much awareness and to try and save lives from this infection by holding this event it will help to raise funds and to also raise this awareness. |

as Wez says, Stevie Shanks is the man to nab for this. He'll be able to point you in the right direction and is a thorough gentleman to boot.
A piece of useless but relevant trivia, necrotising fasciitis is the disease that laid Jeff Hanneman low not so long ago, nearly costing him his arm. Bloody nasty! |

yeah it's really bad my mum was in intensive care for 3 weeks fighting for her life with it
it is very nasty |
