CVLT Nation just banged this up for download. The setlist is incredible. Show is up on youtube for the last while but the audio download is clearer. Unreal stuff. How the mighty have fallen.

Show on youtube

One of the best Slayer boots ever. I have this on cassette for the last 20 odd years bought in Rip off Clothing in Belfast.

They're fairly limp live at this stage as well Pat. At least they were the last time I saw them. All the same, it'd be great to see them rattle out a set like that again.

Great setlist, the dvd is good but the audio lets it down a bit, does anyone have the New York dvd recorded in december 1986?

It was filmed by the club they were playing in and the audio is pretty good, there are clips on youtube but i know there's a decent dvd of it kicking about as i've seen it before.

Yeah it's the Reign In Blood tour, there's a couple of tracks from it on the Soundtrack To The Apocalypse DVD.

The full show is about 65 minutes from memory.

I have a few great Slayer shows, the Seat Cushion Riot show is a good one from the Felt Forum in 1988.

????? Don't agree with that at all. In a live setting you can't expect them to have the same kind of intensity these days, they are all in their 50's.

No, but they really should pack it in. It's not music that lends itself to getting on in years.

This man talks fucking sense!

Slayer packing it in would only give justification to your contorted auld lad view of the world since you've adopted this 'age appropriate' philosophy Paddy! Razz Though I agree that they cannot deliver a set with any of the same aggression, intensity and brutality as they did in the 80s, 'the proof of the puddin' is in the atein' in that they still fill venues when the tour and play high up on festival bills so people still want to see 'em.

I can't imagine it'll be long before they do pack it in or simply do festival sets here and there and despite walking out on Slayer at Hellfest in 08, I think it'll be a sad day when they do jack it in.

I agree with you, but to say "how the mighty have fallen" gives them no credibility. I do think they peaked years ago, but to be making such aggressive music at this stage of their careers deserves some kind of respect? I mean compare World Painted Blood to the bollocks released by their peers, Metallica ,Megadeth etc. Slayer have never sold out, and they still are more worthy of seeing live than either of the above.
