| Well the show is volunteer led/run so if someone wants to get involved and give our slant on things an airing they should go for it. |

that online discussion about this where the same point was raised Moose - notice in spite of moaning about the lack of "punx" or whatever, noone seemed to be rushing to get involved? |

Didn't know it was four years on the go, I thought it was only a recent venture. Would be good to see a similar doc done about metal but the lads couldn't have been expected to cover everything, especially if their interests don't lie within certain genres.
I'd imagine they would be happy to help if they were approached about doing a heavier doc. |

| Apparently another feature is being considered, which is cool. If it includes heavier music then all the better. |

.
Very valid point, yeah - this was a doc about DIY/Indie music, some of which ties over historically with hardcore and punk but the two aren't mutuall exclusive, and the makers didn't pretend they were (though one of the people involved in DCTV and many of the participants have a [ast involvement in that scene). I could swear Tom from Bacchus was talking about doing some kind of doc years ago, but they may have been drunk talk.
A metal one would be excellent but again, it would be up to someone knowledgeable enough and involved in the scene getting involved or approaching them, rather than people expecting they "should" feature it. I don't think they're under any obligation to cover any particular scene like. |

No one is under any obligation to cover anything, of course. That's not an issue or a matter of dispute. However, it's not beyond the bounds of the imagination that when covering a DIY scene you look into other areas that are of the same mindset yet might be musically different. The project is titled Independents and not Indiependents, after all.
That said, I'm being pedantic. |

I did notice that indeed Jamie but thought that was to be expected. I should also admit that I was looking out for my good friend/band mate when saying that.
Haven't heard anything about another one being made from him either..
Considering who produced it I'm happy with the amount of coverage that punk got in it. |

absolutely, yeah. I think a couple of people, including him, completely missed the points I was trying to make in that discussion - his response seemed a little defensive. I was actually on his side, funnily enough.
And obviously I'm probably as guilty in terms of not rushing to get involved with this DCTV thing..difference is I don't feel let down by the documentary (nor, realistically do I have anything to contribute).

Ah I don't think he missed your point at all, there's no sides to take either I don't think. I think they covered what they covered really well and extending it further may have washed it out too much. There was also no stopping any of the interviewees from mentioning more metal or Into the Void for that matter during the section on the record stores. |

| It's hardly a fight, think Grimes is just being dramatic. See Al's fb. |

It most definitely wasn't a Bres vs Grimes fight. |

Yup not a bad view that show, enjoyable enough for the couple of bands I listen to that it covered (Wizards and Rednecks).
So are Jamie and Darragh going to get their shit together and do the metal version then or what?? |
