He's one of my favourite characters in the books. Didn't think he was that well cast initially, starting to warm to him more now though. Expected him to be taller and angrier or something.
Liking Daenerys a lot more now. Find her character boring as fuck in the books. |

| I still find her boring. Better to look at, but boring. |

| For me the casting as been generally poor. Stannis looks about 10 years older than Robert did, while Renly looks younger than Robb Stark. Sansa and Shae are appalling. Asha is way too wooden, none of the playfulness of the book. I cannot stand Littlefinger (we get it, you're devious). Characters in the series I do/did enjoy would be Jorah, Ned, Robert, Varys, Tywin, Tyrion, Arya and Bronn. |

I wasn't Impressed either at first with the casting of Stannis but as I said I'm starting to warm to him.
Don't think I like how they're handling Harrenhall. Would have like to have seen Wese.
Love the look of Pyke, Just how I thought I would look like. |

Pyke looks deadly, just watched the first 3 episodes and have the next 3 to go through tonight. So much needless sex and man on man though |

i watched the first series and then gave up because there was too much of a gap between the casting and the books, or my pictures of the characters to be precise. Whilst there's a lot of 60% right characters, too many of them seem to fail to match up. which is odd given that Martin is an executive producer. I saw a pic of Brienne of Tarth recently (in the series) and just though...no. On the flipside Liam Cunningham has potential as Davos.
anyway. might come back to it but I'd go so far at the moment to say only Ned Stark, Tyrion and Ilyn Payne are spot on (for my money). Tywin and Joffrey are good picks too. |

| This season isn't as good as the first. I think the deviations from the book have reduced the amount Martin's direct quotations in the dialogue. Some of the lines just don't sound good, or particularly in keeping with the characters. The whole episode of the royal party being attacked in the streets just didn't ring true at all, felt a bit like watching the school play. |

You're pretty spot on there.
The choices for Rob Stark and John Snow are especially attrocious to say the least.Don't look a thing like how i'd have imagined them.
The part where Arya gets captured in the book was a whole 5 mins long.If i remember correctly in the book it took about 3 chapters with her for that to happen.Meanwhile they make up this gay scene with Renly that never happend in the book but was only hinted at and that got the same amount of time in one of the episodes |

I was downloading the 2nd season week by week up until now. Was gonna wait til I had all 10 before watching, but a 6 hour binge tonight couldnt be helped!
Story wise, I am only finding myself interested in the Nights Watch and beyond the wall.
The families battling for Westero's hasn't been as epic I was thought it was gonna be after the first season.
Same with Daenery's story ark. 4 episodes to go I suppose, hopefully I am completly wrong in my thinking!!
I think I'll pick up the first book tomorrow and get stuck in. |

You won't be sorry. The books are fantastic IMO.
I view the tv series as a side novelty. |

Season two has been on the whole fairly disappointing so far. The lad playing Theon Greyjoy is just the pits. That scene with Bran in his 'bedchamber'? Christ on a bike, so cringeworthy. I have to echo Dave's sentiments about the riot in Kings Landing...So unrealistic and ham fisted.
I'll keep watching of course, but for all its merits they have been far too hit and miss with the casting. And give us at least one battle scene for fuck sake. |

| Really dissapointed in the casting for this season actually. Martin is trying to prove to people how big a perve he is by replacing storyline and characters with needless sex scenes |
