Yup, really looking forward to it now. Urfaust especially, and followed by D666 - what a 1-2!!!
Venenum, ketzer and Inquisition should be killer also and hopefully I'll discover some new shit as well - fair few bands on there I haven't listened to.
Should be in just in time for the bands on the Thursday and heading back fairly early to Berlin on the Sunday. Work monday is gonna be |

Good weekend. Can't be bothered to write everything in full sentences, so:
+ Brilliant weather (apart from Thursday night)
+ Svartidaudi were great but they might want to work on their stage outfits. Putting black nylon scarves over your mug in broad daylight… I don't know but it just looked strange to me. Song material was top notch, though!
+ Deströyer were killer as usual. Mr Warslut's jabbering between songs… not so much.
+ Loved Diocletian. Utterly savage! Felt the need to be an annoying digicam filming twat, so for anyone interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQqc9RspWrw
+ Denial of God were a pleasure to watch as well – gloriously theatrical!
+ Icemaaaan
+ Beverage store next to the festival area = endless supply of dirt cheap East German liquors
+ Good to see an open air festival providing real toilets (free of charge) instead of portaloos only
- Not much of an audiophile but the sound there really needs some work
- Only caught bits of Ascension and Urfaust
- High NSBM fuckwit ratio
- Stupid, inflexible coupon system for drinks and food on the festival area - DIE! (and take my cash money) |

Weather was atrocious! Boiling hot bright sun is a total buzzkill for black/death metal. Hard to really get into the likes of Venenum and Svartidaudi at 4pm in the afternoon underneath the oppressive bastard sun. But that is a general gripe with outdoor death and black metal anyway - hard to create an atmosphere befitting the music.
D666 were killer, really stepped up to the plate as headliners.
Urfaust were superb. The night time vibe and cooler temp obviously helped for both.
Sound was ropey alright for a lot of bands - inquisition in particular.
No glass in campsite - pain, especially as there is a cool bottle shop just outside. Usual shit beer selection inside-gash lager (actually wasn't too bad) or spend a fortune on Havana Club.
Didn't encounter any NS stuff myself. Drunken antics/level of debauchery was quite low as well I thought. |

Haha, must be my hypersensitive NS radar then.
Seriously... I mean by now I'm used to a few siegheiling drunks at festivals (East German festivals especially) but this was a new high for me. Way too much spas in their NSBM (or otherwise right-wing-related) get-ups and definitely too much RAC and Rechtsrock for my paranoid ears.
On the way back I also managed to get into a car with a spa trying to convince me to join a right-wing extremist party/movement which didn't exactly improve my impression either.
But all moaning aside, if the line-up's as good next year I'll probably end up going again. |

| I figured there would be a lot of NS folk there. Something had to take over from UMM/Festung when it finished up. |
