Not the first band to take this approach!
And certainly won't be the last.
Just had a listen to their EP up on their soundcloud.
It's pretty decent.
They're obviously well into their music, so the best of luck to them. |

I don't mind these kinds of things and have bought a few albums this way but the lowest price category doesn't even include a copy of the product your "supporting", you don't get the album (digital) till you spend €45 and a physical version doesn't appear till you give them €65!
Here's a hint folks if the campaign is to support an actual product (i.e. your album) if people donate/pay for it they should probably get the fucking product.
The progression should be (from cheapest to most expensive):
Digital Album > Physical Album > Physical Album + Digital > Physical Album + Digital + goodie #1 > Physical Album + Digital + goodie #2 > etc etc
Every single supporter should get a copy of the album even if it is just a digital version. |

| My favorite one was the lad years ago selling a PDF file of the Satanic Bible in the classifieds. Talk about having a neck like a jockey's bollocks. |

| Whatever happened to good, old-fashioned putting a bit of money aside? Seriously, a tenner a week from each band member in a 5-piece band gives you 2500 after a year to spend on recording/equipment/whatever. |

THIS SEEMS TO BE POPULAR ENOUGH. OUR VERY OWN LISA CUTHBERT RAN A REASONABLY SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN RECENTLY. SHE REACHED OVER HALF HER TARGET.
IF YOU DON'T ASK YOU WON'T GET I SUPPOSE. |

I bought a Killing Joke album this way, Down by The River. Every single option gave you a copy of the album in some format. I've backed other non-musical crowd sourced projects.
If a local band put their hand out in this way to raise funds to make an album I'd have no problem giving them support if I was at least getting a digital copy. But these "rewards" are fuck-tarded. |

Is this an English version of Kickstarter?
The two would need to be in some way connected because they're fucking identical. Copyright control required on this one. |

Exactly, any band can afford a tenner a week each, get a loan from the credit union etc. etc.
Anyway it is fair enough to ask for support to be honest, but winning a meal or a skype chat with a pair of nobodies is pretty Creations Tear like. |
