spikes, snakes and naked bodies during bright sunlight - I had a similar idea myself, so I get the feeling perfectly. I'd rather say they decided to put something on the foreground to add some variation.

The foreground figure almost looks like it's done in a different style to the rest of the image.
I do like the cacti, serpent imagery, all the same, but the foreground figure is very striking and gets a little lost amongst the rest.

Not that their recent releases have been bad or anything - in fact, I find them pretty good - but I'd rather listen to 'Inquisitors...' or 'Si Monumentum...'

I just had a listen to 'Abrasive Swirling Murk' on Youtube. Nice stuff.

Listening to the new tune here. It sounds OK but I sort of expect something a bit more unusual from DSO. Not bad but not amazing either.

I'm still convinced these are programmed drums.

Is this - and I'm not saying this lightly - more of the same (i.e. spluttering polyrythmic blasts, jagged flat-fifth Voivodian riffs and Aspa gurgling over the top)? Don't get me wrong, this approach is/has been great but they have kind of mined that furrow to death now I fear.

I kind of feel like it's more Botch or (early)Dillinger Escape Plan than Voivod, but yep, on first listen it kind of is.
