With the Danava tour confirmed for the very end of the autumn I thought it was about bloody time I bought their new album. When I say new, I mean somewhere from 2011. I was poor and bought bugger all last year. But given how much of storm they created on their spring tour four years ago I'm genuinely surprised by how little I have heard about this slab so far here. Anyway, second spin in, the vinyl was well worth the investment. It some ways it sounds less wild and cosmic than Unonou. But this still unmistakably Danava albeit more straight up galloping hard rock with melodic twin leads. There seems to be more of a Wishbone Ash and Thin Lizzy vibe rather than Hawkwind battling Rush. Bizarrely, I Am The Skull puts me in mind of Slough Feg with frontman Meleney instead Scalzi behind the mic! This particular song then breaks into some cool synths so perhaps the Flash Gordon feel still remains in their matter before busting into another classic solo!
My only complaint is that the vinyl seems to have been produced or cut with a low sound so needs cranked way up to be heard. Fortunately, I'm happy to oblige! Buy it now and reap the rewards when they blow the roof off again! |

| I have yet to grab this, cheer for the reminder. Unonou is a beast. |

| This is probably my favourite album at the moment, every song on it is killer. The twin leads blew my mind at Roadburn, the bass playing stands out a lot more live too. |

| Fantastic album! 'The Last Goodbye' is the only track that lets the side down, but it also has some great moments. Can't wait to see them in the autumn. |

Just needed a polite nudge Stephen, eh? I've already spun the vinyl many times and am totally hooked. It agree, i's certainly different to Unonou Niall but by no means far off the mark. |
