| For anyone going back to berlin on the sunday - what hostel(s) ye booked into? I'm only staying the one night, but I'm in two minds over booking the odyssey or getting in some place closer to Ostkreuz station (there's 1st floor, plus the place Josh et al stayed last year). |

| Fuck it, budget hotel room booked for 30 notes, 5min from Ostkreuz and an ensuite shower, can't be bothered pissing about looking for good deals at the last minute and the laziness factor of just strolling for the train can't be beaten. |

| Got back to the gaff at four this morning. Still knackered. Don't think there was any of the madness of last year (I missed it if there was) but a great laugh overall, and most of the bands were pretty enjoyable too. There were only a few duds in the billing (Beyond, Proclamation to name two) and I can't think of any from the others who performed below par. Zom were great and seemed to win over quite a few people with their set. |

I had a savage time at this, despite managing to miss Mortuary Drape and The Skull due to shite-talking and general tomfoolery.
The general attendance seemed a bit more in line with 2008 / 2009 than the last two years, which isn't surprising considering we were missing quite a few Irish and Finnish heads.
Standout bands were ZOM (who seemed to get a really good reaction), stellar sets from Midnight, Vanderbuyst, Degial and Unholy, as well as total pounding Death Metal annihilation from Sonne Adam. Of course the DJ H Voltage sets were brilliant too, including playing some god-awful cheese in a vain effort to get people to fuck off on the last night.
The absolutely over the top reactions to some of the songs being played by forum members here will stay with me forever. I'll be back next year if possible for sure. |

Ah Jaysus, all your metal points will have to be revoked. |

| I had maybe too much fun at this. Stand outs were Degial, Morbus Chron, Midnight, Horisont, Miasmal, Vanderbuyst, Sonne Adam...holy fukk, killer sets from all. I think Midnight really put on the best show. The vibe at the fest was unbelievable...I'd do it all again tomorrow if possible. |

Right... 4th attempt of me seeing them and once again it didn't happen. I know that I've been physically in front of the stage when MD played but I can't say I remember them or any band of Thursday despite (sort of) seeing them all.
Had more luck (= less to drink) with watching bands on the following days. Zom, Degial, Procession, Sonne Adam and Ufomammut were all great on Friday. Same goes for Morbus Chron, Necrowretch (pleasantly surprised by them), Solstice, Midnight (!), The Skull and Unholy.
The aftershow parties were the biz (as usual).
Weather was perfect for my liking. No boiling sun, not that much rain.
For some reason ("PACK YOUR SHIT, LAURA!") we were on the campsite until 4-5 PM on Sunday, managed to go to the "wrong" train station and miss our targeted train since certain people decided they'd rather pay €30 for 2 sandwiches. I think we finally left Pößneck by 7-8 PM and the journey to Leipzig was rather horrendous.
Seriously thinking about booking a hotel for next year. Getting too old for this camping shit. |

| They probably charged him extra to have the place fumigated afterwards. Nice guy but there was an awful stink off him that day. |
