| I think the cover is muck though I'm interested in hearing it for sure. You'd have to think that it's lot different to Maidens music not for him to release it in Maidens name, which would automatically see him in for a hefty pay check. |

Yeh I'd sayyour right, it's just hard to imagin him witing anything that doesn't sound like Maiden after all these years!
Looking forward to hearing it. |

Not funny.
From wikipedia:
Richard Taylor - lead vocals
David Hawkins - guitar, keyboards
Grahame Leslie - guitar
Simon Dawson - drums |

| Wonder how this will effect Maiden's future. Is this a sign that Harris may want to wrap Maiden up soon(ish)? |

Good man Philip, I was wondering if the day would ever come where you posted in a thread discussing something other than one of the gigs you're promoting.
As for this record, I can't imagine the material straying too far from Steve's usual formula. As a bassist, he peaked many years ago now. I mean, listen to the basslines on the first five records, he doesn't even try come up with stuff like that these days. The material he has written for Maiden over the past while really sticks to a rigid blueprint, you could almost accuse him of being the Trapattoni of the music world. I'd like to think he has something different to offer but I just can't see it. |

About the picture though, I thought that was Niko on the far left. |

What is utterly bizarre is back in 1992 he was "helping out" a new young band called British Lion (see interview here) |

It's not the first time Steve has used other peoples intellectual property.. although in this case perhaps he should have waited another 2.3 years... |

Unfortunately I'm inclined to agree. As a bass player as unique as he was back in their hay-day, hes not brought anything new to the table in terms of his playing in years and years.
I'm still interested to hear it but like I said earlier, I hope its not just an album of Maiden B-sides. |

dogday wrote: Very surprised by this. I wouldn't expect it to be great though - possibly rock-based leftovers from the Maiden writing sessions. But worth a listen. Maybe it's a bit odd that it's called British Lion but the embossing looks rather celtic!
More people of celtic decent in the UK than in Ireland as it goes... |
