I've never really got into him but didn't see this anywhere and figured it might be of interest to some on here.

He wasn't lieing when he said a lot of it was commercial! Not sure about it to be honest although I'm by no means a massive fan.
I've only ever listened to Alien, anyone got any other recommendations for his stuff? |

| His stuff is very different so it's hard to recommend anything - and of course the quality is so high. Ocean Machine, Ziltoid, Ki, Addicted and the Strapping Young Lad album City would maybe be my favourites. They're all very different though. |

Yeah Devin's solo stuff is quite different from SYL but if you've only heard Alien it wont be too difficult to get into.
If I suggest anything it will be my favourite album, Terria. Amazing album. Very organic yet huge sounding record, quite epic too if thats what your into!
For SYL, City is essential but the album SYL itself is fucking crushing! |

Seconded. Terria is what converted me to Devin, after hearing "Deep Peace". Amazing tune. Actually tune doesn't do it justice, it's truly epic.
The SYL song "Love" is a crushing beast of a song too. |

A shout for Accelerated Evolution & Infinity here. Some absolutely belting tunes on both of them. Deadhead absolutely floored me the first time I heard it.
Also SYL's City, you need to hear this album |

This is the reason I love the song 'Angry Again' so much - melodic as fuck with female vocals and then there's the Gene Hoglan blast beats! I don't know how he made it work!! |

Devin wants fan submissions for the video to "Lucky Animals" which will be the first single off Epicloud!

| That might be the worst song he's ever recorded and the chorus sounds lifted from some Marilyn Manson song - possibly Mechanical Animals (?). Although I like the idea behind it. I wonder why he choose it as a single. |

Personally I like the songs in Terria but the sound of the album wrecks my head. The live versions of the tunes are far better. Can't wait to hear Kingdom re-done as-well. |

| Never understood the 'Terria' love at all. 'Ocean Machine' abso-fuckin-lutely, 'Accelerated Evolution' sure, but not 'Terria.' |
