Anyone else find this to be one of the most infuriating practices ever?
A pathetic attempt to elevate status or importance on the basis of a vague association or chance encounter with a celebrity. (In some cases very vague) There's people here in work that can't tell an anecdote without dropping someone's name in at some point. I've heard whoppers about Roy Keane and Martin Sheen this week alone. I've noticed it creeping in on the forum quite a bit too. |

Reminds me of when I moved from Limerick to Dublin for a year about 12 yrs ago. Made an oath to slap any celebrity I recognised on the arse. Needless to say, I didn't have the balls to follow through when I walked past the newsreader Anne Doyle on Grafton St.

Whatever, if you work in those circles I don't see a problem mentioning names. I don't really give a shit either way, as I've no massive interest in hearing about it. |
