| Also, from a comedy perspective, Curb Your Enthusiasm is a must. Hoping for a new season next summer. |

Is 'Six Feet Under' worth getting into, so!
I always got the impression it was a bit girly!
Speaking of girly!
'Nurse Jackie' and 'Weeds' are worth a punt.
Main characters are both selfish cunts of the highest order.
Especially Jackie!
They're short episodes too. So don't outstay their welcome, which works to their benefit.
Season 2 of 'Hell On Wheels' has just started back on AMC(I think) in the States. First season was pretty good, IMO. Fair few Irish actors in too, which is always good to see. 'Deadwood' fans will probably find it of interest. |

Squigz wrote: I watched Prison Break a few years back, and loved it though thought that the last two series suffered greatly in quality by comparison to the first two. Had nothing to watch at Christmas and stuck it on again, and had to stop half-way through the third series. The quality of the story in 1 and 2 carried the fact that the acting, for the most part, is absolutely horrific, and Michael Scofield is just an annoying twat. Also, in spire of Lincolns 'innocence', he still intended to kill Terrance Stedman, just that someone else had already done it. Pissed me right off! Few great characters in Mahone and T-Bag especially. Fun fact: I was in school with Dominic Purcell's brother.
Breaking Bad is just going from strength to strength. Of all of the Emphryio, I'd get on it now, as its still running, and the week and week tension, although frustrating, would be slightly wasted if you were in a position to watch it in a block (though how desperately I want the block!).
I've gotten so used to watching things in blocks I dunno if I could go thru it week to week, esp something like Breaking Bad. That and the mid-season break it's due to take shortly have kinda guaranteed that I'd see it in one go when it's all said and done. As per your other post- Curb is fuckin deadly. Larry Davis can't write episodes of that fast enough for me, genius stuff
Forgot about the Sopranos. Hmmm, that's been on the list for ages actually. |

For me, it's up there with The Sopranos, The Wire, and Breaking Bad. The writing is absolutely phenomenal. I'm not sure what you mean by 'girly', it's a pitch black comedy drama that becomes increasingly dark and less comedy and its probably the most genuinely affective show I've ever seen. I had to take a break from watching it halfway through season 4 because it got so heavy and watching and episode was genuinely depressing. |

If you're gonna post a huge fucking spoiler, please don't write it as:
Quote: Was that the episode where *spoiler* something huge happens
That's hardly a proper spoiler warning ffs. |

| Anyway, I only got into Six Feet Under towards the end of last year. It ranks in my top 5 TV shows of all time. As Wes said, it starts out as a fantastic pitch black comedy but gets less funny and more utterly depressing as the series progress. By the end of it you're completely engrossed in the lives of each character, more so than any other TV shows as far as I'm concerned. That final episode is still the most moving finale I've ever seen. I watch the very end of it on YouTube every now and again and it floors me every time. |

Oops sorry bout that, figured since it was years ago it wouldnt matter, I only remember it vaguely anyway, I wasnt the biggest fan but I always liked the show but that episode was enough to put me off watching it for years, just remember it seeming almost comically OTT and ridiculous, especially as the show had already been getting more and more miserable to a ludicrous degree.
A mate put the whole series on my drive recently so I should give it another go sometime, apologies if I actually spoiled it for anyone there. I wont tell ye what happens to Tony Soprano so |

Six Feet Under is a brilliant show with as was said top notch writing.
Some stuff i've been watching.
The Newsroom - jury is still out. Love Jeff Daniels but some of the pontificating going on in the show is too distracting. Good look at how newsrooms work though.
Deadliest Catch - Season just finished. Brilliant as always. Would any of ye have the balls to give that job a go. Not me anyway.
Friday Night Lights. Thought i would hate it but it's not bad. 6.5 out of 10.
Veep - It's good but nowhere near The Thick of it. Why. Because there is no Malcolm Tucker character. They need one and quick although i did hear the second season was granted and they are introducing a charachter like that.
Romanzo Criminale - Being repeated on Sky Arts again. Best show of the last few years. Has anyone else seen it yet. Am i the only one. |

This week's Breaking Bad was stellar - the ending genuinely shocked me.
I honestly hope they don't make any more Curb. The last season had some great moments but it was definitely the weakest by quite a margin. |

Breaking Bad never fails to entertain, each week just gets better & better. Was great to see Bill Burr guest appear again to.
Anyone watch Falling Skies? Only about 2 episodes into the first series but seems decent so far. |
