Some French gimp opened a dispute against me for an LP he bought, claiming it was not in perfect condition (which it was). Obviously, I won't be giving him a refund until he posts me the LP back, and I am satisfied that it is still in the same condition, but he refuses to post it unless I cover the cost which obviously I will not. However, paypal have frozen the money related to this transaction until the dispute is resolved.
Anyone got any idea how this bullshit works? I have a horrible feeling paypal tend more towards the buyer in these things...hopefully I'm wrong. |

Yeah, had a feeling they did alright.
I accused this muppet of lying about the quailty because he just didn't like the album and that was his motivation for the dispute. The fucking donkey then confirmed he thinks the album is rubbish in his reply, also while boasting that he will almost certainly win the dispute and also get to keep the record...so I sent this info to paypal. Not sure how likely that will be to sway things though. |

| Basically it depends on the staus of the case and whatnot. Worst case scenario, the buyer will be asked to send the item back via recorded delivery, paid for at their own cost. If they don't, or the tracking information is invalid, or doesn't confirm delivery back to your location, the funds will be given back to you. Will PM you when I get home from work to get more info, if that's cool. |

Thanks lad, that'd be much appreciated.
I really don't care so much about even getting the cash back at this stage, just so long as that stupid cunt doesn't get his way. |

| The only thing I'd recommend in the future is to take a picture of the item just before you send it and keep as reference in case some arsehole tries to shaft you again, it mightn't be completely sound evidence but it might help if people are moaning about the condition of things, |

PayPal Don't take photos as evidence in buyer disputes.
Listen to hunlord, knows his shit. most of the time the buyer will just have to send the item back at their own cost. |

did the buyer pay for insured postage? as if it got fucked on transit its his loss, otherwise you could claim back from the postage company and refund him.
But as he's being a cunt from what your saying im assuming this is not the case |

| I've been on the opposite side of these disputes a couple of times, and while paypal will probably side with him, he won't get the money until he's sent it back by recorded delivery and it's confirmed that you've recieved it. I would be extremely surprised if he wins the dispute without having to return the goods, sure if that was the case everyone would be pulling the same stunt on every transaction. |

Only the seller is able to claim back the postage insurance, as they're the person that technically paid for it, so that excuse doesn't cut it with PayPal. The buyer claims from PayPal, the seller claims from their insurance.

There are only 2 cases when the seller won't receive the item back, firstly if the item is reported as counterfeit, third party documentation is provided confirming that they are, and an affidavit is provided, and secondly if its something like a glass item that can't be posted back due to the fact that it was smashed on arrival and would be too dangerous.
Most important thing as a seller is send it via recorded delivery. If some cunt says they didn't receive anything, that's what will be requested. If its not provided, the case will be found in the buyer's favour. |
