| C'mon you fucks...plenty of you have been there before. What's the accommodation situation like? Flights/travel too while you're at it...wouldn't mind checking this out. |

Ticket price is €36.30.
H, I've never stayed in Lichtenfels before although when I was speaking to Ralph last week he said there were several hotels in the town centre but that they were a bit pricey, think he said €70 per night, not sure whether thats per person or per room.
We're travelling on the Thursday morning with Aer Lingus to Frankfurt and getting the train down (there might be a festival bus running i'm not sure) and flying back from Frankfurt on Sunday evening with Aer Lingus.
I'll be talking with Ralph at the weekend so I'll try get a bit more info from him then.... |

I’ve been to the Stadthalle a few times for the Ragnarok Festival and they use the sports hall beside the venue as a sleeping hall. Not sure if this will be the same arrangement for WOD though, as it’s up to the organisers. They charged 10 euros for 2 nights to stay in the hall. There are a few hotels around Lichtenfels though. Have a look here for hotels, pensions, camping vans etc.

The closest and the best option (but expensive) is to fly to Nuremburg with Air Berlin from Stansted. From Nuremburg its about 1 hour 20 mins by train. Not much hassle this way.
Not many low cost flights operate to this area of Germany. One option is to fly to Altenburg, from Stansted with Ryanair, but involves a few changes with trains afterwards.
What I have done before is fly direct from Dublin to Frankfurt and then get the train, which usually take 4 hours or so. Trains in Germany can be expensive but if you book well in advance you can get discounts of up to 50%.
Any flights to Munich or Leipzig are also handy enough to get to Lichtenfels. |

| Gonna look into this but I'm fucked if I'm camping. Loathe to do it in the summer so certainly not doing it in October. |

If you find accomadation post it up man, I'd rather a bed than a sweat box tent. |

There will be camping beside the venue but be warned - it can be very cold in Germany at that time of the year.
If there are enough of us going on the same flight i.e. the early flight to Frankfurt with Aer Lingus on Thursday 1st October, there will be a shuttle bus to bring us to Lichtenfels, please pm me if interested in getting this bus.
Ralph will send me a list of hotels later in the week and I'll post them up here then. |
