Californian thrashers SLAYER will headline the Wacken Rocks South (August 28 in Kreuth near Nürnberg/Munich) and Wacken Rocks Seaside (August 29 in Aurich near Bremen/Hamburg) events in Germany.
Cant find any info on where this is other than the above info.
Anyone been to these wacken spin offs? |

They were shite when they played Wacken a few years ago. Talk about going through the motions...headlining Wacken meant nothing to them at all.
Vader were on after them and annihilated them. |

Guess they're committed to that co-headlining tour with Marilyn Manson for most of the summer across the US... |

Havent been before, not sure if they have happened before. Its the same lineup at each show. Load of shite german unknown local bands. Other bands playing being Stratovarious, Edguy, Alestorm, Axxis, Girlschool, Secrets of the Moon, few other "name" bands but cant remember who or if id even care. |

Yeah that annoyed me a bit. I was planning on heading to Low End for Primordial and Spearhead mainly. |

| REMEMBER WHEN WACKEN USED TO BE A SMALL AFFAIR 20-25OOO? NOW THERES SPINOFFS, THEY OWN BLOODSTOCK, METALCAMP ETC. SHAME IN ONE SENSE, USED TO BE A GREAT FESTIVAL BUT BUSINESS IS BUSINESS I SUPPOSE. THE YEAR SLAYER HEADLINED WACKEN THEY PLAYED RAIN IN BLOOD IN ITS ENTIRETY. H IS RIGHT THOUGH, DESPITE VADER BEING ON AT 2AM OR SOMETHING RIDICULOUS THEY WERE FAR TIGHTER AND MADE MORE OF AN IMPRESSION. |
