Anyone have any?
I absolutely, positively HATE it when people say 'sort of' in every sentence. It drives me utterly insane when I hear it, especially from customers at work, 'Hi, I'd like to sort of apply for a loan' or 'I've sort of lost my card' etc etc. How hard is it to throw a few sentences together without using it?
Also people using the word 'random' to describe situations or events which are in no way random at all brings down the red mist too. People to whom you are not acquainted are not 'randomers', FUCKING SPEAK ENGLISH PROPERLY!!!!!
God I could go on. Love giving out. |

| Shop assistants and waiters who say "no problem" after taking your order. Why the fuck would there be a problem? |

That's gas. Someone was saying the same thing to me recently and I hadn't noticed how much it has come into use until it was pointed out to me. Now it wrecks my head too |

yup, that "random" thing really crept up and suddenly everything is fucking random.
I also get a bit irked by people saying "Cheers mate"
Do I reply "Hurrah" or what? |

'random student banter' - a phrase that melts my head completely. There was nothing random about your night, it went as you would expect; you drank a bottle of wine that you bought, put on a slutty dress, waited in line in 21, some 'random' lads chat you up and you got an abra after. Random me hole.
I hate when people incorrectly use their/there/they're, to/two/too, of/off, you're/your etc. That just drives me bananas.
I hate seeing people throw rubbish, even cigarette butts (and I'm a smoker). I do throw my butts on the ground occasionally but there's usualy a bin/ashtray nearby in most public places.
When people ask me why did I cut my hair.
Idly googlin words on google scholar when starting an assignemnt when trying to find journals.
Waking up and needing a shite, hate getting out of bed.
There's more I'm sure. |

Anyone who uses "At the end of the day". Know a few people who would happily use it 500 times within an hour.
People who overuse the words literally or ironically, and in the wrong context.
Again, use of the word random, randoms, or randomers. Please shut up. |

the word banter annoys the shite outta me...
what was wrong with the word craic...
Random is a weird one. Came in to the language a few years ago and is usually used to describe the most mundane situations by oompa lumpas is UCD.
ive started to annoy my self by how much i say sound and unsound and anti sound and mad sound and madsoundouvit etc etc etc....
i used to have such a great vocab.like deadly and whopper and serious. now all i say is sound.
so random |

| Shop assistants that say "thanking you" rather than "thank you". It's passive, condescending, and marks the offender out as a irrefutable cnut. |
